Hmm, hmm, interesting indeed.

How bout Mezzoforte? I have 1 45 of theirs that's 2 instrumentals and they're great, but I don't know if they're strictly inst.

I definitly have to agree with Giorgio Moroder and Vangelis, I'll also add Harold Faltermeyer and Jan Hammer. Moroder, Faltermeyer and Hammer are like the ultimate synth trio of the 80's, I try to get as much of anything any of them are associated with that I can find.

Rational Youth and FM both have some great instrumentals.

And for old school, you can't deny Herb Alpert and Walter Wanderly.

Aaargh, forgot to add David Foster. Stuff may be considered kinda weak, but he's a great musician.
