SHARE NEW: The Continuous Beauty Of The Unknown 80s Vol. 40

Postby Rissan » Fri Sep 19, 2025 1:49 am

It's Friday again and we continue with this series.

Today I present you Volume 40, which finally is a thematic volume.

This volume is completely dedicated to Bill Nelson. The artist, the producer, the writer and the record label owner, who, after all those years, still is a very busy man.
He started recording in 1970. and released over a hunderd albums since as solo artists and with Be Bop Deluxe, Red Noise, The Builders, Orchestra Arcana and (the) Revox Cadets.
He also worked with a long list of fellow artists like Yukihiro Takahashi, Gary Numan, Cabaret Voltaire, The Armoury Show, David Sylvian, Skids among others. With his Cocteau Records label he introduced new bands like A Flock Of Seagulls, Fiat Lux, Last Man In Europe, To Heaven A Jet and Stranger Than Fiction.

With this compilations i duck into the eigthies recordings of Bill Nelson. The result a four disc compilation that serves like an introduction to the work of this remarkeble man.

As a remark I like to add that some of the tracks were already featured on The Unknown Beauty Of The 80s series.

Please note, this in NO way is intended to take away sales from any of the artists included here but rather a way
to discover or rediscover these timeless and sometimes unknown masterpieces.
Please support these bands if they should have material available! They deserve all the credit!

Up for a week.

Thank you for remembering his work with Fiat Lux and in helping them start off their career with this wonderful single.

Remembering his brother Ian who died in his sleep at age only 50 in 2006. RIP.

This is great! We could all use a little (or a lot) more Bill Nelson in our lives! Thanks again, Rissan.
