MY vote goes to MISSING PERSONS!!! MTV LOVED Missing Persons playing their videos in heavy rotation in the early eighties. Songs like "Words", "Destination Unknown", "Right Now", "I Can't Think About Dancin'" and "Surrender Your Heart". Their music was way ahead of its time. I have an 8" LaserDisc of the band. Lead singer Dale Bozzio was a former Playboy bunny and she can certainly sing! Two other band members got their experience playing with Frank Zappa. AND their songs are catchy. Warren Cuccurullo joined Duran Duran in the 1990s. Missing Persons sound appealed to both New Wave AND Hard Rock fans alike.

I discovered Missing Persons at a used record store in St. John's, NFLD, in 1991, by trial-and-error. When I saw their album covers, I immediately recognized them as a New Wave band. I bought the albums and I loved what I heard. Then I asked "How come I never heard of this band before?" Especially in high school. There's not a song by Missing Persons I don't like.

So, if you want to add to your New Wave collection, I suggest you check them out. Their last album "Color in Your Life" was my favorite! The CD has 6 extra song lyrics (same with Rhyme & Reason) and just bursts with energy. Hope you enjoy!!!!

One of my favorites back in the day. Saw them live in concert front row. Their not very popular around here though. They probably had some of the best talent musician wise around.
