In conjunction with the current tour, a dvd has been produced. It seems to be mostly interviews with the boys.

The release of Souvenir may be delayed. Says Rob Finighan, “We may have to push the release date back a bit (but not much) - I will get the website updated just as soon as I have finalised the exact timetable.” http://www.myspace.com/omdthemovie

*sigh* I know. [V]

(I hope to soon be able to stop using the "[V]" smiley.)

RELEASE AND PRICE INFORMATION

From www.omd-dvd.com:
Due to the addition of some extra scenes, the scheduled release for Souvenir has been put back to October 1st 2007.

The price of this exclusive 95 minute film will be £19.99 plus post and packaging.

Details of how to place and pay for your order will follow shortly but it is hoped that the website will be updated at least two weeks before the scheduled release date.

Thank you for your continued patience but we are sure that you will find the DVD worth the wait.
NOTE: This quotation is from the MAIN PAGE. The “Get the DVD” section has not yet been updated. Still no details on region coding and formatting.

Just spend the $50 or so on a player that is either all region out of the box or can be remote controlled into it. Take the matter of out of the moron DVD companies' hands.

It's so stupid to tie yourself to region bullshit. It's like those Blu-ray fanboys thumping their chest on how they've got releases like Underworld, etc., all the while not knowing that it has been released on HD DVD (regionless) in other parts of the world.

Yeah, eventually I know I'm going to have to do that. It's just that I got my new DVD player a little over 6 months ago - before I knew anything about region coding! I just can't see replacing it now . . .

Today, being October 1 and all, I mosey-ed over to the omd-dvd site and, lo and behold! Nothing's changed - i.e., no ordering process info.

I'm trying to find out if the release date has been changed. As soon as I know, you'll know.

OK, hot from the Official Forum, from the fingers of <a href="http://www.omd.uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3674&start=90">Andy</a> himself, this update:

"Rob has finished editing it's off to manufacture I believe."

So, maybe a few weeks more? As soon as the omd-dvd site starts accepting orders, I'll be all over it!

The omd-dvd site is now announcing a release date of November 1, but there is no ordering info as of yet.

There is another important announcement <a href="http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21099">here</a>.

Orders are now being taken at the <a href="http://www.omd-dvd.com/get_dvd.php">Souvenir site</a>. The total cost to ship to the U.S. is about $52.00. Orders are being taken through PayPal.

Note that the DVD is in PAL, Region 2.

*sigh* I know. But it's finally here! [:)]

(And yes, I did order one! [:D])

Great news DreamRedux but why is the price of this dvd so high? I know you didn't set the price but I honestly think they knew that they were making this dvd for fans. I just don't think it's cool but if they can justify that the cost of making this determined the price, that would make me feel better. Is it the packaging? Is it the cost of putting everything together?

I think it has something to do with the fact that Rob has done this at his own expense, and it is only limited to 3,000 copies. I read on his blog that he hopes to break even by the end of the year. There's a chance that a heavily edited version will be picked up and shown on TV in the UK sometime, but this is not guaranteed.

Rob is a mega-fan, but he still likes to eat and live indoors! [:D]

That is actually a very good reason DreamRedux. Guess I will dish out the $52.
