Thompson Twins "Into The Gap"

Postby bruiser » Wed Sep 01, 2004 12:00 am

those are "future days" b-sides. i thought we were talking about "into the gap"-
surely they didn't do this when there are so many b-sides: out of the gap, still water, funeral dance, nurse shark, compass points, panic station, etc. etc.
i don't get it.

I just checked FYE's web site for this cd and it is not listed. Is this for sale now or has it been shelved? Anyone know where to get it?

I'm not sure why it's not on their site yet as it was supposed to come out on the 14th. I have my copy already, so I know the product has been manufactured. It's also on the All Music Guide.

"Here's To Future Days" should be released in the next few months. Bonus tracks are a 12" version of "Lay Your Hands On Me" along with a song called "Alice," which is an instrumental version of "Lay Your Hands On Me."

Hi Surly,

Did you get yours from FYE or someplace else?

Well, the label sent me a copy because I wrote the liner notes for it. This particular label is a joint venture with FYE, so the product will be sold in their stores and (I suppose eventually) on their website. I am not an employee of the label or FYE, though, so I really don't have any additional info. If I hear of it showing up on the website, I will let you know.

Seems like there is enough Blancmange on Cd allready (http://www.amazon.co.uk/). Just a matter of ordering from Amazon in the Uk, which usually dispatches these cd's within 1 to 2 working days....

Interesting- they seem to have all 3 of the original albums availble, new. I thought these were all out of print.[?]

I think those are CDRs. The same seller offers, for example, a long out-of-print Bathers CD. See below.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I recall reading that they were prepping UK reissues of the Thompson Twins catalogue back in 2005. They never appeared. Does anyone know if they are still coming? I love the Twins but they have virtually been erased from music history. Superfecta managed to revive their arguably best album but Into The Gap (while have good quality remaster sound) had pretty lackluster reissue features. I need definitive editions! 2-discers would be nice.....

Wow, I didn't even know Into the Gap and Future Days were reissued. And I thought the original Into the Gap was still in print. Guess I must have got my copy just before it was deleted [:)]. As to Future Days, I was happy to have finally found it (original release) on CD, twice even, and here it is reissued over a year ago [:o)].

PS. CD-O = CD on Demand = (seems to be) legit CD-R. You can read about it in the seller's profile.

PPS. Check out amazon.co.uk for Blancmange DVDs [:)]

I recently joined up with the yahoo group and visited the following site

http://thompsontwins.moonfruit.com/

This one is campaigning for the reissue of TT albums and it looks promising. I hope that these will be given nice deluxe issues. At least 2 disc releases containing b-sides and extended mixes.
