This news prompted me to re-listen to his 3 "new wave" albums "Quit Dreaming", "The Love That Whirls" and "Chimera". All albums are good, but different.
"Quit Dreaming" was released in 1981, but recorded in 1979 and initially it was intended to be a Red Noise album. It is the more rock sounding of the three, with evident punk influences. "Do You Dream In Colour?", however, is an electro-pop classic, very catchy, excellent production. "The Love" is more electronic, very much what you'd expect in 1981 (when it was recorded) from the group of artists such as Japan, YMO, John Foxx, i.e. art new wave electronic pop. "Chimera" has only 6 songs, but each one of them is a gem. All these albums have some very memorable tunes, very uptempo and, what I must say reluctantly, were recorded in the times when Bill Nelson could really sing.
It will be really interesing to hear the new mix of "Quit Dreaming", as the original mix is not very good in my opinion, with too narrow stereo to my taste. I really enjoyed the new mixes of some Barclay James Harvest albums which were made by Cherry Red for their deluxe editions a few years ago.
So I am looking forward to this reissue, though I have the 2005 remaster, the new mix appeals to me much more than the bonus tracks.
