RIAA shutting down new wave MP3 sites!

As of yet, I know of several rare new wave MP3 sites that have been shut down recenty. Nerocam's site went offline as of around yesterday. I dont know about everyone else here, but I get my weekly dose of rare new wave from lots of sites, hence my playlist is very large and diversified-this also creates the need for a large 40+GB hard drive--but thats beyond the point.
I personally think this is totally stupid of the RIAA to do. The music here is for the most part unavailable. These new wave sites have changed my life. I listen to this stuff all the time. Its all I do now. I loiter at the 'ID This!' sites just to see what sorts of exotic songs come up. This music is awsome, and the artist are not making any revenue from these records--we arent stopping them from making money. I see the RIAA's points in this, but this music is far too rare. Its frightening to know that some of this music can be lost forever. I am a new wave newbie (2 years), but I still try and get as much music as I can. The sites with their songs help me add to a list of artist and songs to look for on vinyl.
MIKE DONT LET THEM STOP YOU!

Hmmmm ... haven't received anything just yet. Sounds like the greedheads at the RIAA are hoping to scare everyone off and not just the big time peer-to-peer offenders that they claim are the targets of this preemptive strike.
Here's their "spin":

They even wanted to shut down used record/cd shops at one time, they said it was cutting into sales.
RIAA- What a bunch of rats....

"They say that home-taping is killing music, which is bullshit.

I like that last view there, Mike.
I hope they dont target the New Wave Outpost!!
If they do, Im sure we will all back you and protest.
If they are only shutting down peer-to-peer networks, how did the RIAA manage to shut down other "weekly rare n

For those of you under 25 (or so) who didn't experience the 80's music scene, the "home taping is killing music" slogan (with the logo above) was a feeble attempt by the industry to put a stop to recording and copying music on cassette tape (now a painful

@MikeP--You would have felt right at home when I participated in a Metallica bolldoze protest where people took whatever Metallica tapes/CDs/vinyl they could find, layed them down in the street and turned them into a pancake in protest of their attacks on

I'm curious as to why my site hasn't been targeted yet? Well, from what I've been able to gather, the RIAA is employing a crawler called <a href="http://www.gulker.com/music_industry/cyveillancebot.html" target="new">CyveillanceBot</a> that crawls sites l

This crap reminds me of the VHS hysteria in the late 70s/early 80s.
It was said that home VHS machines would ruin the film industry. The motion picture industry's response was to charge $99.99 for a copy of "Jaws" or some other lame movie to offset the

My site hasn't been caught yet,
maybe because it's been a while since I
updated it....
But my site is flash only, I notice all the other sites are html....would that make a difference ?
I'll definitely get it up and running now...I'll try to have

@datafreq...
engines and bots are not able to "crawl" or index flash sites. The reason is that flash is treated as an object and contains all of the data within that object. The bots just see an <object> tag and not the contents.
I look forward to y

Heres what I think happened with thefirstcut and nerocam:
While I know they featured rare and nerocam was sending out the files for the unreleased Screy Thieves album (all the ones he posted I grabbed before RIAA shut him down). They also had alot of p

My site
www.torchomatic.com hasn't been targeted by the RIAA, which is probably because I'm not in the States! However, I suppose it's only a matter of time before the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) come a knockin'
