I was wondering, how does one take an MP3 and convert it to a MIDI? The reason being is that I have a MIDI program that can make sheet music from MIDI files. I am not to concerned about quality only pitch and timing. I can pick out melody by ear, but Im always off. I am also virtually incapable of picking out chords. Some of these songs are not in the best quality and difficult to hear.

To sum this up in one line...
How do you make a MIDI file from an MP3 recording?

Wow, I'm not sure if it's possible, but I suppose there's software out there that can come close. Seems to me that it would be very difficult to translate digital audio to MIDI, since you would have to analyze the frequencies/tones and somehow be able to

Not really to my knowledge. You've got complex waveforms in a Wav or Audio file, not discrete notes that can have MIDI notes applied to.

This is also a puzzling question. I got some sotware here (downloaded it from various sites) that claims to have a sequencer that can convert WAV to MIDI. I tried this, and I got some funky results....

One way to learn solos is to get some hardware/software that will slow down the music without changing it's pitch. I used to have such a device for guitar, I'm sure there must be something available for keyboard players.
