Some Itunes Reissues

Some Itunes Reissues

Postby korova1 » Wed Mar 01, 2006 10:58 am

I was getting my chance to go online once every other week (we have a two year old who keeps us busy) and I noticed on Itunes that there were some unreleased Talking Heads tracks about 18 or something which are not on the recent CD/DVD or DualDisc remasters. Some acoustic Heads stuff, some 12 inch mixes of older stuff like IZimbra, etc. Pretty cool if you are a TH fan.

Also of a lesser note, HULA, an industrial 80's band (think Cabaret Voltaire, Finitribe, Clock DVA kind of a sound etc.) has most of their entire early 80's catalog available online. Some of their stuff was pretty cutting edge back in the day, preview it and pick it up because you aren't going to find it in a store! That stuff is long gone.

Finally, when you search for Flock of Seagulls this "Rock Remasters" stuff comes up. It basically sounds like rough live or demo live cuts from back in the day. All of the songs sound like they are around the first album era... stuff like "Committed", etc. Sound is OK from the previews, but it seems like the bootlegs are flooding the Itunes market. Bring on the rare stuff! That is all for now. Gots to run. I'll keep digging in a few more weeks a find out some more stuff to check out.

Something is very wrong with the A Flock of Seagull releases. One reviewer is claiming to be Mike Score and said it's a rip off and not too buy it.

That's weird: Talking Heads doesn't come up at all on iTunes. Are you outside the U.S.?

All the Talking Heads reissues are available on the US iTunes store. I browsed them yesterday.

OK, I found them by searching by song. It's the darndest thing: typing in "Talking Heads" keeps returning nothing! Maybe a glitch in my system?
