Pilon, what was the name of the store you got the Holly and the Italians album at? I found the album for about 3 euros while I was visiting, but put it back to buy later and forgot to go back. I'm wondering if it was the same store. They had a great, inexpensive assortment of eighties stuff. I found all of the Act 12" singles there (Claudia Brucken's post Propaganda band).

<br>Found a copy of "Are You receiving Me" by a band called Self-Defence. It's weird, not one song sounds the same as the next. There's some cool synth stuff, and some weird classic rock-esque violin piece.

I'm curious; is it a cover of the XTC song or an original work? [8)]

"All titles composed by Terry Jenkins and Bob Painter". I don't think either of those guys were ever in XTC...

Was it in the 1st arrondisement? If so, you bought the same record I almost bought. They had a surprisingly good selection of early 80s vinyl at great prices. I would have to look at my notes for the name, but a short walk away I found a store with a fantastic selection of 80s music with the most ridiculously expensive prices. I considered bringing my $1 Amoeba Records finds over and selling them. This guy wanted 30 euros for Nina Hagen's "nunmonksexrock". I just got that at Amoeba for $2.99, so I'm thinking I take about 100 records with me and I can pay for my trip.

just picked up a 12 inch 45 rpm maxi single by berlin with "no more words" one side and "dancing in berlin" on the other for 98 cents. cover is in really good condition and the album looks as if it was rarely played if ever. i'm in the same boat as randy i don't have a turntable, but i really love berlin.
