Jason, I'm presently looking at Deception, it's one word. I have also the album Fun Boy Three/The Colourfield. The Singles, it's one word. Regarding V&P, if one looks at the name of the band on the cover, it would be very difficult to distinguish if it is written in one or two words. Things turn funny when one looks at the Japanese release, they printed The Colour Fields on the CD....I think that almost everybody took it as a misprint or didn't pay attention. That's the reason why most record stores, music reviewers and fans, refer to the band as The Colourfield.
However, I would agree that you have a point, because on the cover of the s/t album, Colourfield was written in two words but only a few collectors were able to get it.

No! The fans have spoken and we like it this way. Anyway check the Web, 1 out of 100 entries spells Colourfield in 2 words. So frankly who cares? Actually, it would be a good thing if the new release, if ever it pushes through, would revert to the correct spelling, it would constitute an additional incentive for collectors to get a copy.
PS: Another possibility is that Terry doesn't know what he is doing coz in his own 1992 album release, Terry Hall the Collection, Colourfield is written in one word everywhere, booklet, song etc[:D]

Colour Field?????? Virgins And Philistines

Colourfield is spelled with one word, it means that this merchant has never seen the album, doesn't know what he is talking about. Personally, I'm not interested, I have already 2 Japanese copies, however if the CD is released, I will buy two copies for the sake of the collection and another ten copies to distribute to my friends as gift.[:D].If you wish to have a specific song, I can send it to you, but not the whole album.[;)]
You are correct it is The Colourfield according to:
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... w67uy0h0jh
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... q7g4hntv5z

I've got 4 of their songs in mp3
1. Can't Get Enough of You Baby @ 320
2. Pushing Up The Daisies @ 128
4. Castles in the Air @ 128
6. Thinking Of You @ 192

My girlfriend in 1988 put 'Can't Get Enough of You Baby' on a mix tape (she entitled the tape: "She was 17" ...because she was 17 when we met) and I've loved that song ever since. I've not heard the entire album, but if the rest is as good as those 4 tracks I need to own this cd in some form or another. The Colourfield are fantastic!

Can you reccomend any other tracks worth checking out, or is the entire cd just as excellent?
I'm no diehard, so I will not tell U that all the songs are as good as those that U have. IMO the best songs of the Japanese release are: Thinking Of You, Castles In The Air, Windmills Of Your Heart, Sorry, Pushing Up the Daisies, The Colourfield and Take But others are not bad either like Yours Sincerely, Can't Get Enough Of You Baby etc. So, you have three out of the seven I cited eheheh

So here is The COLOURFIELD extended version from The Singles album, out of print. Hope Jason will not complain, I'm promoting the CD anyway.

Gosh! I'm getting confused! A dude from Pittsburgh has just emailed me. He said Terry was visiting the rural farmland northeast of Pittsburgh when he saw a poppy field, he immediately decided to rename the band Colored Field. I don't know whom to believe anymore![:D]
Glad that's over with. Now I can unwind from all the excitement.
[:D] What's really funny is I bought the orginal CD when it came out, listened to it once or twice, and filed it away. Ho Hum. At one point I had it in a pile labled "Things to sell on Ebay". Now that I know a couple thousand people in the Phillipines really love this band, I think I'll hold on to it [:p]
