Newwaveboy gave me an idea for a thread.I know New Wave Rap is Oxy moronic but there is some that exists.Can you name any
1.World Destruction-Time Zone (1984)
2.Wordy rappinghood-Tom Tom Club
3.Bubblmen rap-Bubblemen aka Love and Rockets
4.Blondie-Rapture
5.Talking Heads-Crosseyed and painless (At least one of the chorus')
I realized after I started this it should have gone under the "general thread"

There was the enire "electrofunk" scene of the very early 80's that was a really good crossover between new wave and rap. Afrika Bambatta is it's most well-known performer.

The Cold Crush Brothers did a song called "Punk Rock Rap" that would fit into the New Wave catagory as well.And they did rap in the song trhoughout.A very rare and obscure New Wave Rap song to say the least.I have the 12inch.It came out around 1983 or so.

Let's not forget Devastating Dave's "Zip Zap Rap", a very crucial anti-drug message.

A certain someone played it on Augsburg radio for me. Pure 80s hilarity. His album cover seems to be a new photoshop cliche.

I guess he wasn't really someone who you would call a rapper, but that song was real good rap though!

Maybe a bit post new-wave but pretty much most of Pop Will Eat Itself's catalog is rapping.

And in some respects you could argue The Nails "88 Lines About 44 Womeen" Jim Carroll's "People Who Died" and Trio's "Da Da Da" are rapping...

While we're at it, a lot of Mark E Smith's (The Fall) "singing" could be considered a crude rap.
