Since many of the NWO regulars like, nay, LOVE Diso music, how 'bout y'all throw out your picks for the best examples of this genre?
I'll start with the obvious choices, in no particular order:

Any act produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rogers (CHIC, Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Norma Jean Wright, etc etc etc)

Giorgio Moroder

Donna Summer (especially the Giorgio Moroder produced songs)

Sylvester

Not exactly a Disco act, but I'm counting the Bee Gees.

Rick Dees (okay, I'm joking.)

Can I have a couple of days?

Besides those already mentioned, Off the top of my head:
First Choice - the best female vocal group ever, period!

Sylvester - I usually hate falsettos, but that man could sing!!!

Two Tons - Sylvetser's back-up singers, later became Weather Girls, later Martha Wash (who sued everyone!)

Candi Staton - perfect, warm, expressive voice

Anyone on the Philadelphia International Label - not always specifically disco - but close enough - the O'Jays, Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes...

Barry White - undoubtedly one of the founders of the sound.

KC & the Sunshine Band - almost everything he did sounded the same & that was fine, it was a great sound.

Grace Jones - so weird, loved her throughout her various incarnations

Gregg Diamond is probably one of my absolute favorites. I love his sound. If you've heard More, More, More from Andrea true you get the idea. He was behind Bionic Boogie and Star Cruiser, plus one release under his own name.

Barry White's music is responsible for many births... LOL!!!
I like Donna Summer and Gloria Gaynor.
And I like Bee Gees cos they make me laugh.. but I know that their voice harmonies are very good actually.

Lpps Inc - "Funky Town"
The Ohio Players - "Love Rollercoaster" and "Fire"
