Hardcore Ladytron followers will tell you how excited they were that their black-clad heroes had been scheduled to open for the Pet Shop Boys at the Hollywood Bowl on September 27. Turn those smiles upside down when the Pet Shop Boys abruptly canceled the concert at the last minute, citing "logistical" reasons.

Well, now what?
The good news is that our post-goth electro-punks aren't going to let a couple of mysterious synth-pop legends ruin the fun. So they've decided to make all well and good in Los Angeles for their legions of diehard fans with a free concert on the same date as the canceled show (Sept. 27). The location is appropriately bizarre—the intimate confines of the Hollywood & Highland shopping vortex. Did I mention the free part? Oh yeah, they're bringing along local sonic stars Great Northern to open the show. Well hot damn, sounds like a party!

So what's the catch?
Oh, there's a catch all right. This is still America, people. But the catch is a good one. To get into this super-exclusive show, all you need is a bus ticket. Or a subway receipt. Basically, if you take public transportation to the gig (and hold onto to your stub, which doubles as your ticket), you get in.
