WOW, that is unbelievable. I saw them in 1991 at the Academy. In those days I was working at Tower Records in the Village and the guy from BOL came to my register. I wish I took note of what he bought.

Crowd ate them up. Loved them. Sadly, Ted Ottaviano packed the music onto a single Macbook laptop and it crashed. Not once. Not twice. Not thrice. But 10 or more times. They got things back going each time and sort of limped to the encore/finish line.

That was the bad news.

The good news was, as stated, the audience loved them. Susan handled the downtime as well as possible and entertained us with stories during. She was dressed in a red, feathery dress. I will try to post pics. There are some good YouTube vids too.

Here's the great news. They did the *entire* first album! (Except for Late Show, the instrumental). Hearing not only Boy, Modigliani and ...Roses live was great, but getting gems like Lost Souls and my personal fave Happy Day was frankly mindblowing, as I still count their eponymous first album in my top 20 albums of all time.

They came back out - frankly I was surprised they bothered with the malfunctions - and ended the set with Tubular Bells / Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls. :)

Bonus, if any, of the tech downtime was that Ivan Ivan, who produced BoL's first album, remixed the DM Behind the Wheel/Rt 66 megamix and was the genius behind Dominatrix's Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight, was djing. Not sure if I was one of the few geeks to get how effing cool that was, but it wasn't lost on me.

Great to see BoL as well as other 80's artists gracing the stage again.

So many acts to see and so few opportunities for middle age, kid saddled suburbanites like me to get out and see 'em[V]

Marv! We should have made another road trip into the city.

Ebbhead, thanks for posting the videos. Happy Day is a favorite of mine too.

Hey I'm a kid-saddled suburbanite. I just have no qualms about putting my marriage on the line. [:p] Luckily, it was only $15, tho. Limited the spousal strain.

@marie3 - You're welcome.

Damn, that sounds like something that would be great for a DVD release (including the rest of the concert, of course [:o)]).
