So who's doing these shows??? [:p]

I plan on going to the Nov 6th date in NYC.

According to the band's <a href="http://www.myspace.com/themaryonettes" target="_new">MySpace page</a>, they have a gig at the Mercury Lounge on Sunday Nov 8th (which is listed on the <a href="http://www.mercuryloungenyc.com/calendar/" target="_new">Mercury Lounge calendar</a>). Based on this info, I'm leaning toward the Mercury Lounge gig. I saw them there on their most recent US tour.

Here is a vimeo of 'Puzzles', which I think is from the upcoming release 'Islands' (due out Wed. Nov 4th).

Great seeing Tileboy last night - tanks for da beersh. We were just about exactly 1/15th of the audience at TT the Bears. I guess that hip Swedish sound of the 80s hasn't made its way to Beantown quite yet. Hoping for better in NYC, although the intimate setting here (to say the least) made for an atmosphere that felt like a private dress rehearsal for the rest of their gigs. It also made grabbing a beer with Philip Ekstrom at the bar seem like the most casual and normal exchange that you might have with a friend you haven't seen in a while at the local bar. They spoke of a bigger tour in the spring with management shooting for SXSW. [:p]

Nice tight ~1-hour set by the Onettes. "Henry" was the highlight for me...just a fantastic song with killer baselines. Pictures (and video) to follow after my roadtrip. Set list below. Hope to hear "Explosions", "Make Me Last", and/or "Dare" in Brooklyn.

When I saw them at the Mercury Lounge earlier this year, there were maybe 25 people there. I hope for their sake they pull a bigger crowd on this tour. It might be a good idea for them to open up for a bigger act, maybe get themselves some broader exposure.

I wouldn't worry about the turnout in Boston, it's not a big college town anyway.[:p]

I have to admit I was on the fence with this band before the show but I am a convert now. I think that was the smallest crowd I've ever been a part of. Hopefully they draw better next time around.

Blir, the name of that second warm up act was Bearstronaut.

Sounds like you guys had a good time, sometimes its disappointing to have a small crowd but then again like Mike said it makes for am=n intimate setting and the band can probably relax a little more and just jam soulfully.

As I said earlier, I'm planning on attending the Mercury Lounge show on Sunday night. Tickets are just $10. Anyone on the fence for that show can contact me for a free ticket. The beer is very good at the Merc-- Sierra Nevada on tap if I recall correctly.

Great packed gig at Union Hall. The exuberant, full-of-life crowd just said it all about the Mary Onettes...they're not going to save the world, but people are gonna have some fun at their gigs. Whether it was the charming Brazillian couple that we met, Fabio and Mariella (woof), or the three young ladies in front doing much 80s dancing (!), or the guys rocking out in the back, people had some fucking fun.

Pretty much the same setlist as Boston with the addition of "Explosions".

We were so close-as close to the band as you could be without actually being on the stage.

The NY Times was there, so there will be a review in the Friday paper,
but watch for the posting of the "Henry" performance from Sir Blir
