04/15 - Los Angeles

I got my ticket for April 15th in Los Angeles, just about my entire scooter club is attending, and be great to see them all together again, minus keyboardist Jerry Dammers. Anyone else here on NWO going???

Saw them in '81 at The Whiskey A-Go-Go [original site before it burnt down], and again on the "Guilty 'Til Proven Innocent" Tour at The Troubadour back in lie '91-ish.

Good friends of mine from Long Beach, CA saw them in England last May, and said they are not to be missed, a great show!!!

Looking forward to seeing anyone there! [:)]

Saw them at The Warped Tour a few years ago. They were the "Oldies" band playing along side all the cutting edge newbies. Lots of energy!

I wonder if they'll expand the tour; I'm hoping for a Pacific Northwest date.

Lynval Golding was featured in a local newspaper article a couple of years ago after he got married and moved to Gig Harbor, WA (near Seattle/Tacoma). I'd always kinda hoped to bump into him at the grocery store and casually ask about a reunion tour...that won't be necessary now!

That would have been the "fake" Specials, with only a couple of the original members (ie: no Terry Hall). The only original member missing from this reunion is Jerry Dammers

^^^ As it has been stated here several times Terminal 5 is a terrible concert venue.

BigDave, yes I'll do a write up later! The gig rocked, they were really tight, and sounded just like when I heard them in 1981! [:D][8D]

The lights went low, and "Enjoy Yourself (Reprise)" was played from a recording, and they opened with "Do The Dog!" The whole place went ballistic!!! More later... [8D]

There are a few videos on Youtube.com from the Terminal 5 dates. Damn, it pains me that I wasn't in town to catch one of these shows. I've never seen the Specials, and I remember that when I was a freshman in high school, a friend of mine's father was an ex-cop who was contracted to be stage security for them. At the time I was like "The Specials?!? Never heard of 'em!"
