Went to see them live last night, truly a cracking gig! What a great voice Theo has, without any effort he just sings amazing in a live situation. Loved their performance, even if it got a bit long in the tooth halfway through with one too many ballads. But what a massive sound they produce on stage with some nice electronic touched here and there. And a surprisingly brilliant version of Confide In Me, since I was expecting the acoustic version.

Very interesting review. I just haven't been able to get past my cynicism of them being SUCH a knockoff of some of the old bands, at least stylistically. I'm gonna try listening to the album again.

Frau Blucher (I love your forumname, Mel Brooks fan?). You're right that they're heavily inspired by certain 80s artists, both with image and music, but I do find that they've made their own sound work. Maybe a bit too many slow songs, but I like the fact that they've produced a big soundscape as opposed to many other new bands inspired by early electronic music, that goes for the more simplistic approach. Besides the 2 first singles, Silver Lining, Sunday and Devotion are ace, while Stay, Illuminated and the b-side Happiness also has their moments.

Check the first 3 I mention out;
