Hey, I've found a rarely visited subsection of the NWO board!

I'll occasionally review records on my various blogs. It's a form of discipline, where I try to keep my writing sharp when there's less demand for it from my work.

This seems a perfect spot to slip in a review or two.

Some of us remember The Bluebells as a likeable Scottish band who rattled off a few Top 20 hits in 1983-84. Some of us recall them as a band namechecked in Craig Gannon's CV, before he was drafted into The Smiths. And some of us remember their surprise #1 U.K. hit years later, with a re-released "Young At Heart."

The parent album is a great one. And here are 500 words explaining why:

I don't think I've listened to The Bluebells in 27 years; My Sisters LP must be in mint condition.
Thanks for jogging my memory- some very solid tunes here.

I played side 1 to death. Red Guitars on side 2 was good, but not good enough to want me to flip the LP over.

Side one's crazy good. Wonderful. And the drop-off is pretty apparent, you're right, but that last song at least leaves things on a high note. Were I Pitchfork, I could 7.9 that puppy.

Just bought the (used) album. It was a great road tape back in the Late 80's for me before it snapped after playing it a hell of a lot. Hooks galore and great songs through most of it. Sparks memories of both watching the video to "I'm Falling" on Good Rocking Tonight (CBC) and getting the "All I Am" 12" at a small store along with Julian Cope's "Sunshine Playroom" around the Summer of '86. I wonder where the store got all of that delicious vinyl starting off, but at least it did, creating a regular customer for at least a couple of years before it faded away.

I had the tape of this at the time and I listened to it almost every day. One of those albums that had wall to wall great tracks. I think side two was just as good as side one.

Some one here was kind enough to do a rip of the Japanese CD for me a few years ago. Still one of my fave albums.

Is there anyone who could post that ripped Japanese CD ? ...please
