djcraig's joke has an obvious racial interpretation, and because of that, I pushed-back against that line of humor. I think we can calm down-- I did not brand him a racist. All I did was mock his post for being insensitive-- it hardly merits a defensive protest.

You chose to interpret the comparison as some sort of racially charged attack...I disagree with that assertion. Your viewpoint was worthy of comment, not debate.

I interpreted the joke as [i]potentially[/i] racist. The joke's interpretation is subjective, and it is not a stretch to interpret it as racially charged (the faces of Duran and Ahmadinejad are not similar unless you reduce/generalize them as stereotypes). If the only interpretation were that it was a racial attack and it was intended that way, I would have stated that plainly.
