That's not surprising in NYC. When I was a kid in the 70's, I listened to CBS FM and they were heavy on 50's music which was only 20 years old at the time but seemed ancient to me. Nowadays CBS fm plays tons of 80's music which is 25-30 years old. They're after the same audience they've always been after: the over 40 crowd (and judging by the ratings, they've got them).
