Jokes aside, given that he possibly wasn't a troll (even though he stank of troll, at least initially), you gotta at least give the kid kudos for taking an interest in 80's music; no matter how misguided and inconsistent it was.

I don't want him to go, just stop with the kind of topics like: "Whose better, Tears For Fears or Thompson Twins?" "Here is my cassette collection" (I have most of those on cd for more that 15 years, and probably all of the songs in high quality mp3) etc...

Most of us actually lived through that time period in real time 20+ years ago. So if you have some questions about the time period, some particular band, or song, offer some insight, etc., great, we welcome that sort of dialogue.

it's obviously the reason most of us are here is our love of the genre of music, but topics like that are ripe for a whipping. So if he actually is a kid (20 years old or so) I welcome people that are interested in the genre, just have a bit of common sense as to why you are here.

The sad part is that the era of NWK (and when I say era I mean the last 10 days) was pretty fun. I think secretly we all enjoy getting outraged.

I actually believed he was real in the early days...duh...it was less fun when it became so obvious he was a troll.

At least his review of New Order's greatest hits will still linger on in the Review section for some time to come.
