Welcome to the new forum!
If you are a previously registered user, you must do the following:

1) Click on 'I forgot my password' at the login prompt
2) Enter your username and email you registered with and submit
3) You will receive an email with an activation link. Please click it and then log in using the random password provided
4) Go to your User Control Panel and click on the Profile tab
5) Click on 'Edit Account Settings' and enter your new password twice followed by the random password provided earlier. Click Submit.
6) That's it...you're back in! You may have to log in again with your new password.

Too bad. There were so many disco queens but I liked her stuff. You could actually listen to it. Must have been the Rick James influence.

Yeah, I remember "Lovergirl" and "Squarebiz" but I didn't think much about her until years later when I would go to an all-night laundromat where they piped in one of those "Quiet Storm" radio shows from one of the local RnB stations. I remember thinking "Man, they play a lot of Teena Marie on this show. I thought she only had one or two hits? I bet there are loads of people screwing right now to this music while I'm in here folding shirts. Sheesh! ".

A few years after that she had her big comeback and that's when I finally realized she had become a huge RnB icon while I wasn't looking.

Checked her out on YouTube last night after reports of her death were trending on Twitter.

She brought it. Can't deny that.
