Think the time would be better spent in transforming their manager into a manager.

France are finally out and as predicted put the white flag out before the game even started. S. Korea certainly rode their luck in the second half; I still don't know how on earth that open goal was missed..

Still, England are playing today in what should be their last match in the tournament as Slovenia will defend for the match in order to get the point they need. If Algeria win against the US then they will almost be certianly through.

[/quote]What a frustrating struggle for the US, though. So many failed opportunities. We were fortunate to pull out the win in the final minutes of the game. Feels good to advance to the next round.

I just wish Donovan would stop speaking like a nasally Muppet. It's like Jim Henson has pulled a Gepetto on us.

I watched as much as I could in the hotel lobby but had to head to lunch. As I was walking along 53rd a gigantic roar rang out when USA scored. I thought that was pretty cool to see people so excited about it.

That was likely all the cab drivers screaming out in rage over the Algerian defeat.

LOL!

That was a superb performance by England but the fact remains that if we took one of our many chances in the second half we wouldn't be facing Germany in the next round. The US left it late but scored when it mattered to top the group to get a much easier match.

We were terrible throughout, if Germany played well the scoreline would of been a lot worse.

Despite the poor world cup I do think we should stick with Capelli as no-one else wants the poisoned chalice that is the job of England manager.

Cheer up U.S., you still have the other U.S. team (known as the Mexican team) to cheer for...at least for the next 45 minutes.

That Tevez offsides would have been called easily in any U10 kiddie game. What the fuck with these morons.

The officiating is a joke. Three on field officials to call a game played on a field the size of Texas.

Football has 7 plus video review, hockey has 4 plus video review, hell, even baseball has video review. Hardly a game goes by without a brutal call being made, with many determining the outcome. No wonder it's staged once every four years: people need time to forget the unintended comedy.
