Keep in mind that I've already seen other photos from Texas and the Northeast that show this same or similar canine-like creature, so we're almost certainly talking about a heretofore unknown species.

Interesting. Until the Native Americans killed them all off about 11,000 years ago, there was a hyaena-like scavenger native to North America, and it lived alongside the American Lion, Cheetah, and giant ground sloth.

Does anybody know the name of the animal that lived in Australia till about 100 years ago. They killed off the whole lot. I kinow I'm wrong but it was something like the tazmanian lion. It looked alot like this thing.

I work with some puerto rican guys and we call the oldest one chupa cabra. He does not like it much. They believe in that thing!

The Tasmanian marsupial you are thinking of was called a thylacine. It looked like a big striped dog. I think the last one died in captivity died in 1937.

Thats the one! It was in the news that they might clone dna samples and bring back the species. And I think someone is going to clone a mamoth. Thats cool being able to bring back something thats gone.
