When I was a kid I watched the Shazam/Isis hour every Saturday morning on CBS. I really wasn't into Captain Marvel but he WAS a superhero so it was almost my sworn duty as a 7 year old to watch his program religiously. Isis, however, was a different story. Admittedly I was only really watching "The Secrets Of Isis" because Joanna Cameron was a slammin' knockout and the more she bounced around in that short skirt, the more I learned about "the secrets" her show's title hinted at.

Soon Lynda Carter would come along and steal Isis's thunder and don't get me wrong, Wonder Woman was hot as hell but really....could Wonder Woman stop a breaking dam just by chanting some mumbo jumbo and hopping around in heels? Isis could fly! Screw that invisible plane shit![:D]

Amazingly, Sid and Marty Krofft have always denied that they used hallucinogens, although the series "Lidsville" suggests otherwise.

Joanna Cameron (Isis) also appeared in the first episode of the live action Spiderman series from the 70's, thus creating some sort of Marvel/DC apotheosis.

At 1:44 we see more of Joanna Cameron than they could allow on Saturday mornings.

I haven't thought about this show in years. It used to be one of my favorites as I recall. Used to brighten up my Saturday mornings. Very nice memories.

[/quote]If they admit that they were stoned out of their minds, their legacy would lose that element of mystery. Anyone who doesn't see the strong drug-culture imagery is blind (I mean H.R. [i]Puffing-stuff[/i], c'mon).

We [even] got these down here too when I was young. Loved Isis, Shazam, Spiderman and also The Kids from C.A.P.E.R.

I even had The Kids from C.A.P.E.R. album! The funny thing is these shows ended their initial run after only a few years (Isis only produced 2 seasons) but the networks reran them for years and I suppose that, as kids, we just never noticed. [:p]

I love a lot of Filmation stuff--I was glued to the TV on Saturday mornings (a tradition which, sadly, has become a thing of the past).

However this clip just shows that Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott where among the cheapest animators/producers in the history of television (and given Hanna-Barbera, that's saying something). Even as a kid i remember thinking "why does the same background music play on so many different shows"

Yeah, I have the Star Trek animated series on DVD and there's a Freedom Force episode on "The Secrets Of Isis" DVD set. Filmation were the cheapest of the cheap, which of course is why they were so busy throughout the 70's. I do appreciate that they went the extra mile and got Adam West and Burt Ward for the Batman series and (most of) the original cast of Star Trek for TAS. It would've been nice if they had Joanna Cameron play Isis in Freedom Force (what a voice!) but I guess she wasn't as iconic as the aforementioned actors.

Strangely, the big failure for me for ST:TAS isn't the limited animation and the stock shots and music (I grew to expect that) but Shatner's performance as Kirk. Although people will find this hard to believe, he underplays Kirk so much that the character sounds like he's asleep. The rest of the cast voice their roles just as they performed them in TOS, but Shatner, perhaps stinging from criticism that he overacts, takes it down so many notches it weakens the show.

They should've used some of the cast that did the old Star Trek stories on Power Records series in the 70's (whoever played Dr. McCoy in those "read-along" records was dead on). I've never been able to find out who those actors were.
