New Fall Season

TV's new shows look pretty lame. The incredible over advertising of The Event has made me rethink watching it as well. Anything look good to anyone?

Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead all look good but they are on cable.

Walking Dead great zombie comic book but a tv series could be iffy since its AMC. At Least on HBO and Showtime where they can really get away with alot of gore and violence. Theres only so much AMC could do with zombies disembowing people.

all the shows I'm looking forward to are on cable as well, and not new except Terriers on FX and solely based on the fact that the people from The Shield are involved. the first episode was ok, haven't watched the second yet.

Dexter, Eastbound and Down, Bored to Death all start soon

What, on broadcast TV? I've seen screeners of some of the new pilots. I liked "Outsourced," "Mike & Molly," "UnderCovers," "The Defenders," "Blue Bloods," "Chase," "Raising Hope" and "Running Wilde" -- though most of them aren't exactly appointment TV.

The new ABC shows I've watched are pretty bad, and I turned off the two pieces of junk that premiered on the CW last week.

So if I were to get this "cable" that people speak of, should I get On or SelecTV?

As long as your cable has HBO,Showtime, AMC and FX, your cable show list should be satisfied. Even then just subscribe to HBO and Showtime from september to december/january and cancel them till the next season.

Boardwalk Empire's first episode not bad. Lets see if it can keep it up.

Has anyone watched the summer series Louie ( now over )on FX? Some episodes are lame but the poker game one was friggin hilarious.

The new shows were definately lame (Hawaii 5 O, the Event, No Ordinary Family, and Undercover). I did like Terriers but its a little uneven. Boardwalk Empire started off a little slow in the first episode but got bit more interesting towards the second.

So is this going to be another year where we turn to cable tv for good shows? It cant be worse than last year as far as broadcast tv goes. Terra Nova cant be as bad as Falling Skies can it?

I'm curious to see "The Playboy Club" because I like the Playboy aesthetic from that time period and I dig Amber Heard. I haven't watched much television since the 90's so I'll probably wait for the DVD.

It's funny. Most of the friends around my age dropped out of following music completely once they hit their 30's but still watch current TV and see current movies. I went the opposite way. Kept up with music, lost interest in TV and only see movies once in a blue moon. I think YouTube spoiled me when it came to TV. [8D]
