Well, I would say it was any one of the gifts my mother-in-law has given me over the past 30 years (a bath towel, oven mitts, spoon, tea towel [just one, my sister-in-law got the mate]), but this Christmas is just days away. I'll keep you posted.

*** I should add that out of the 4 daughters-in-law I'm her favourite***[:D]

A small fondue set as a 'secret santa' present at work one year.

Never found out who gave it to me. Just as well; I mean.. what the fuck?!

My wife once gave me lululemon yoga (!?!) pants with bell bottoms that only Johnny Weir would feel comfortable in. After I camped it up doing piroutettes aroound the living room, our relationship has never been the same.

A can of cashews...parts and halves. Nothing says "We love you, but not enough to buy you whole nuts" like a can of parts and halves cashews.

He should also have to revert to posting as myirwin.

Worst gift: an ex-employer gave me a pen that literally fell apart the first time I used it. Thanks for the jigsaw, boss.

Gifts from the boss ALWAYS suck. My boss would actually clean out his house and bring all his old junk to work. Then he said we can have all of it and Merry Christmas. One guy got an old used vcr and a hot water bottle.

God damn, as a kid who loved collecting G.I. Joe toys and Nintendo video games, I hated the sweaters one of my aunts used to get me every freakin' Christmas. I'd make sure to wear them when we were playing football or futbol in p.e., so I could tear 'em up while playing... and those damn things lasted forever![}:)]

I dunno, I let on very early that I'm not into getting gifts. At the same time, it's cool someone went a bit outta their way to get me something. However, I have more fun going on and picking gifts for others - I usually pick junk I like and force it onto others (usually dvds and cds). I also pick random people at the office to buy gifts for. Some stuff I gave was:

- Real Genius and "The Hidden Fortress" (Criterion version) dvds for a colleague in my section.
- Waking Life dvd for a girl at work I usually talk movies with.
- Warner Brothers Gangster Film Collection Vol. 1 for my old supervisor.

- $20 gift card for Starbucks to a colleague who always brings a Starbucks coffee to a night class we're enrolled in at the local university.
- $20 gift card for Baskin Robbins for another girl at work who likes their pistachio almond ice cream (I also like the same ice cream).

- a Hello Kitty toaster that supposedly leaves a Hello Kitty mark on the toast (it doesn't).
- Dachshund (weenie-dog) shaped baking and kitchen utensils (corn-on-cob holders, cake server, salt and pepper set, and a cookie cutter). I noticed she had a photo of her pet dachshund on her desk...

I sometimes wonder if what I give is considered "weird junk nobody wants"[V]
