& just in xase you wonder where the name the "Doors" came from...
Jim decided to use the name after reading this book called "The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley
http://www.mescaline.com/huxley.htm

If you ever get a chance to see a documentry called Psychedelic Pioneers which delt with a hospital in Weyburn Saskatchewan that delt uses of every known psychatropic drug known in the world to see if there were any conections to how a schizophrenic mind worked !
the Souris Hospital housed over 2,000 patients during its peak & broke ground for many of the known street drugs at the time & where the pandoras box lid was opened up for LSD !
Unfortunatly if you live in the USA the film has been cencored from all viewings , so free indeed! I lived in Weyburn when they were tearing all that old hospital down.Had been abandoned for decades.
All reseach had been stoped when the Canadian gov.put a classification on LSD as a controled substance in 1964 when the hospital funding was chopped. So the hospital was the cheif supplyer to Captain Trips & even Timmy O'Leary !
One positive foot note was the treatment of alcholics where that hospital had a 50% recovery rate for drunks & to this day AA north america wise has had no better than 10%!
The hospital is where the term "psychadelic" was coined.

Took 'em long enough. Although there's never been any evidence at all that Jim exposed himself onstage, it's passed into urban legend along with "Mama Cass died choking on a ham sandwich" and all the other baby boomer made up bullshit.

The surviving Doors issued a cool statement that sums it all up pretty well:

"We don't feel Jim needs to be pardoned for anything... Whatever took place that night ended with The Doors sharing beers and laughter in the dressing room with the Miami police, who acted as security at the venue that evening. No arrests were made... Four days later, warrants were issued in Miami for the arrest of Morrison on trumped-up charges of indecency, public obscenity, and general rock-and-roll revelry. Every city The Doors were booked into cancelled their engagement.

"A circus of fire-and-brimstone 'decency' rallies, grand jury investigations and apocalyptic editorials followed... The charges against him were largely an opportunity for grandstanding by ambitious politicians - not to mention an affront to free speech and a massive waste of time and taxpayer dollars.

"Four decades after the fact, with Jim an icon for multiple generations - and those who railed against him now a laughingstock - Florida has seen fit to issue a pardon.

"If the State of Florida and the City of Miami want to make amends for the travesty of Jim Morrison's arrest and prosecution 40 years after the fact, an apology would be more appropriate - and expunging the whole sorry matter from the record."

Dig it!
