He was awersome when working with John Cassavetes in [i]A Woman Under The Influence[/i] and [i]Husbands And Wives[/i], as well as Wim Wenders's cheezorama art flick, [i]Der Himmel Uber Berlin[/i]/"Wings Of Desire."
I love that man's style in [i]Columbo[/i] - no over-the-top crime labs, no airhead hot chick assistants... he didn't really answer to anyone; did his own thing and operated under his own code. R.i.p., Detective Columbo[}:)]
