She Wants Revenge vs Editors

Discussions about the new generations of bands influenced by '80s New Wave and Postpunk

She Wants Revenge vs Editors

Postby Mechi » Fri Jul 07, 2006 8:03 am

Well, both of the bands are favourites of this Next Wave section. So let's vote and give opinions of which band we like better.
In my case, I think Editors' lyrics and music are better than SWR.. deeper and more reflexive. They obviously have paid more attention to the production of their songs.
But SWR has that dancy and kinky vibe that makes their stuff so atractive. And their lyrics are pretty perverse... which is good. [:p]
Anyway...
My vote: Editors

Editors for me too. I liked the album and seeing them live only solidified their place as one of my favorite new bands (even though stellastarr* was better). [:p]

Couple months ago, I woulda agreed with you 100% motors. But somehow, somewhere along the way, the Editors' sound got kinda old. I'm really digging She Wants Revenge's heavy synth lines behind their guitars.

Decided to revisit "She Wants Revenge's" while driving with my two boys to the supermarket. Quickly relized after hearing the lyrics from "Tear You Up" that maybe it wasn't appropriate [:0]

I absolutely LOVE She Wants Revenge!!!! Just saw them play a show 2 months ago and they were fab. Don't know the other ones though, so She Wants Revenge wins in my book by default.
