AND...

The boys covering Galaxie 500's "Tugboat" and Modern Lovers' "Roadrunner" at their Rough Trade East in-store last night. Have I ever mentioned that I love this band?

(awful sound recording but...)

These kids still sound really good. Blir, let us know when they're coming around again.

Yet another epic adventure that several friends went on that I can only weep to have missed. [V]

The song "Bear" of the Zeus EP was a pleasant surprise. I always enjoyed their mid-tempo/melodic pieces.

Yes. And Cleaning Out The Rooms as well for me. I'm concerned about the new single however.

I know the song's supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek (rive gauche girls and banlieue boys and all), but I don't even like any nod to the ordinary even as a dig. I'm troubled.

Neither great nor horrible but sadly not very interesting either. I'd expect better from them but 2010 seems to be the year when everybody puts out a "meh" single..

Yeah, I guess truth be told, if it weren't BSP, I doubt that it would have caught my attention at all.

A good review here, though I may be biased since it's by my friend Richard at Incendiary who took me to see PiL in Amsterdam...

I'm listening to the "Valhalla Dancehall" album now. Much of the album (e.g. "We Are Sound") has the sweeping Cinemascope sound you'd expect and of course like from BSP but, call me crazy, some of the new CD reminds me of Sugar-era Bob Mould. That's not a bad thing though.

"Living Is So Easy" was a baffling choice for a single. It's not an accurate representation of the album.
