The Prids---rockin' in the Northeast

Mmmm...another new rave of mine. They've definately got their Joy Division on, maybe early Psychedelic Furs and early Echo and the Bunnymen too. Yes, another band that kicks out the JD influence, but I don't care. if I like JD, then why not, right ? Anyway, the Prids are from Portland OR and their stuff is really moody, throbbing, dark stuff, and I like it a lot. Check it out, folks!

hey, just resurrecting this thread--the Prids are playing in Albuquerque tonight (they've just begun their tour--check out www.theprids.com for dates near you. [motors, they will be in VT. later]). After the show, they'll be crashing at my house. A good college buddy of mine is a friend of the band's, and he's accompanying them as their technician/roadie/merch guy, so that's how this came to be. Oy, Rock Star Life for a weekend. Maybe they'll remember our pad when they get famous, lol.[8D]

I know - I just saw that yesterday [8D]! The funny thing is that show got rescheduled to Ocober 1 from way back in April and was originally only going to be Built To Spill and Helveta. I was so pissed when they cancelled it but this definitely makes it worth the wait.

No, I didn't end up going. My usual concert-going friends were out of town at a different show and I couldn't find anyone else who was up for going to a show on a Sunday night. So I had a choice between going by myself or staying on the couch all day and watching football. Laziness and football won out and now I'm kicking myself for being such a dumbass.

But I did see Secret Machines on Friday night and they kicked some serious ass and I have The Melvins coming up this Tuesday so that kind of makes up for it. A little. [:(]
