Through his band ARCANA, Peter Bjargo shares with us a truly unique atmosphere. Of course, some of us are already familiar with this sonic landscape. It bears a resemblance to certain works by Dead Can Dance, but whilst that band seeks the light – save perhaps on “Spleen and Ideal” – Peter Bjargo expresses here all the pain of the soul and the loss of his daughter. It is an inner sonic journey, and I must admit I was deeply moved whilst listening to it.
One thought simply occurred to me at the end of the album: ‘This record should never have existed!’… Heart-wrenching.
