6 Degrees of Johnny Marr

The frequency with which Johnny Marr's name is showing up in The Band Association game got me thinking that he may be the Kevin Bacon of music. Therefore, a Six Degrees of Johnny Marr game seems appropriate.

For example:

Simon Kirk to Johnny Marr (only 5 degrees on this one)

1. Simon Kirk was the drummer for Free
2. Paul Rodgers was the lead signer of Free and toured with Queen this summer
3. Queen performed with with David Bowie on "Under Pressure".
4. David Bowie and Pet Shop Boys collaborated on "Hallo Spaceboy"
5. Johnny Marr has played on a number of PSB tunes.

So, the game might work like this:

I'll throw out a name. Whoever links it to Johnny Marr gets to throw out a name for someone else. Let's see if it works.

First challenge:

Jimi Hendrix

Chrissie Hynde recorded Jimi's "May this be love" on Packed!
than worked with Johnny Marr on the same album co-writing "When Will I See You,"

Here's a tough one-try connecting Stacey Q to Johnny

[/quote]From what you just wrote, it doesn't sound like Chrissie Hynde worked with Jimi Hendrix, if all she did was record his song.

Hell you could connect me to Jimi Hendrix then... last night I was singing along to his rendition of All Along the Watchtower... I guess that connects me to Bob Dylan as well.

Jimi hendrix died in 1970
Johnny Marr was seven

Why does everyone have to be an asshole?

Okay I can do Jimi Hendrix for real. Johnny Marr was a session musician for Bryan Ferry. Ferry was engaged to Jerry Hall who left him for Mick Jagger. Mick also dated Devon Wilson, who was the love of Jimi Hendrix's life. "Dolly Dagger" is about her affair with Mick. "She drinks her blood from a Jagged (Jagger--get it? get it? har har) edge".

Is there more closure now?
Okay--now Stacey Q. Game on!
