Eagerly starting the second dozen of our series, here's Volume 11 with some more gems from all over the world. Not as long as the previous one, but containing some real strong ones. Zephyr in the Swamp are the UK band that came after The Games, which were featured in earlier volume. One of the best pure synthpop reissues, those warm analog synths galore! And almost completely instrumental to boot, wow! This track is an exception of sorts, though, harking back to my thread about the nature of instrumental compositions in "General discussions" part of NWO. In fact, many of the reissues from which those songs below come are full of instrumental goodness - Art Interface, Victrola, David Allen etc. I think I'll do an instrumental volume in the future :D Meanwhile here are new goodies, hope you'll find them to your liking!

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 11

01. Zephyr in the Swamp [UK] - That's What Pop is About
02. Laid Back [DK] - Cocaine Cool
03. Victrola [IT] - Tenderface
04. Isinglass [CA] - Much More Than This
05. David M. Allen [UK] - The Dice Are Loaded
06. Almost Alone [UK] - Dancing to Kill
07. Artificial Organs [AU] - This & That
08. Art Interface [US] - Real Pretty-Like
09. Crash Course in Science [US] - It Costs to Be Austere
10. Plus Instruments [NL] - Don't Forget Me

Guys, thank you very much for the feedback! Really pleased with your approval.

Here's a new volume, final one for this year. Here I gathered songs with, let's say, a bit unconventional melodies - while still quite synthed-up, of course, - and generally a bit off, not the more straightforward stuff. It's actually quite interesting and pleasant to listen to, I myself like this one quite a bit. Especially Tik & Tok's great attempt at emulating Culture Club - even better than the real thing :D And Thomas Leer never disappoints in his more soulful moments - truly a great lost crooner of the era! Maybe you have other favourites, though? Let me know in the comments section :D

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 12

01, Thomas Leer [UK] - Change of Heart
02. The Naughtiest Girl Was a Monitor [UK] - Diary
03. Kan Kan [UK] - Apartment 100
04. Naked Lunch [UK] - I Believe in Lies
05. The Quarks [UK] - The Beggar and the Blind Girl
06. Perfect Jewish Couple [US] - April '85
07. Eyeless in Gaza [UK] - Hours Grow
08. Chain of Command [UK] - Friends
09. A.T.R.O.X. [IT] - And Already You Would Picture You Like Her
10. Tik & Tok [UK] - If You Really Want Me

Always nice to hear from Thomas Leer.
His 1985 Scale Of Ten period is really my favorite.

Eyeless In Gaza are a relatively new discovery for me
and I really liked what I`ve heard so far.

Excellent stuff, as usual, V. Very much appreciated.
So after nearly 40 years I learn that The Quarks/President President had more than those two 12" singles. That's the beauty of this forum.

Hello everyone! Let's meet the New Year in this thread and restart for 2021! Some more volumes are on their way, we may very well hit 20th if all's well :D

Meanwhile it's the 13th (lucky number, eh!). I tried to make it as international as possible and succeeded! Lots of great stuff here that I myself was pleasantly surprised to discover (what a way to finally listen to compilations downloaded years ago! :D ). Michael Garrison I would like to especially single out - purveyor of fantastic instrumental synth music, he actually did some recordings with female vocalist, and the result is beyond words. Pure magic! Highly recommended! And a song by Swedish pop maestros Secret Service is very cool - from their archival release, it successfully revives the spirit of their enthralling superhit "Flash in the night" (sadly very little-known in English-speaking world, hopefully I'll shed some light on it here and bring it a bit more fans). Their another archival song "Satellites" is equally cool, I had a hard time choosing between them and went for this one because it sounded a bit more 1980s  And those two are only two highlights, you'll discover eight more! Dive in! :D

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 13

01. Kym Amps [UK] - The Sound of Your Voice
02. Michael Garrison [US] - Take a Chance
03. Effetto Joule [ES] - Chlore Dress
04. Leæther Strip [DK] - Dreaming (1st version)
05. Design [BE] - Fashion & Seduction
06. Stacey Q [US] - The Model
07. Laugh Clown Laugh [UK] - Tattoo
08. Proxies [GR] - Ecstasy
09. Marcie's Still Waiting [DE] - Swamp Thing
10. Secret Service [SE] - Different

Oh and yes, one more thing - I went through all previous volumes, made some subtle changes (mainly concerning the bitrates and stuff) and also reuploaded all of them to Mega. The big thing is I changed the Blancmange song in Volume 8 - previous one turned out to be a cover version, I bounced things a bit, now everything's cool. So the links are all changed, you may want to redownload - but if you won't bother you're not losing much :D

Pressing on, the next one is up. Keep finding "unreleased at the time" songs, which is very nice :D This volume is very varied, showcasing multiple facets of "New Wave", should be fun to listen to.

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 14

01. Night Moves [UK] - Life up (demo)
02. Consequential [YU] - Magic Key
03. Red Violet Red [US] - Lost at Sea
04. Flue [NL] - Sketch Along Fancy Free
05. All the Madmen [UK] - My Head is in a Different Place (82)
06. The SM Corporation [IE] - Hammer (1986 studio version)
07. In Trance 95 [GR] - Fairweather Friends
08. Tokyo Vogue [US] - You Push Me
09. Iron Curtain [US] - Acting out
10. Secession [UK] - From the Heart (demo 1985)

OK, finally here's the end of the main series. There'll be three bonus volumes - and that's it (hopefully)! This one here mixes familiar names and little-knowns, not all of the songs are of stellar studio quality, but that's the charm sometimes. Great moody/atmospheric songs among these 10, too, much recommended.

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 15

01. SIC [BE] - Voltage Control
02. Spoons [CA] - Bending
03. Gleaming Spires [US] - Kinda Like the Movies
04. Data [UK] - Right out of the Blue
05. Martha & The Muffins [CA] - There Comes a Day
06. Mobiles [UK] - Don't Pay the Axeman
07. Scary Thieves [UK] - Thieves of Virtue
08. Trees [US] - Runnin' Wild
09. Martin Dupont [FR] - Love on My Side
10. Winston Tong/Nikki Mono [US/BE] - Dream Assassins
