A Year Too Early: Never Made It Into The 80's Vol. III

The funny thing of searching for New Wave acts is that you now and then stumble on a band that didn't make the eigthies or changed names in 1980 to take another track.

Over the past few years I collected a bunch of new wave songs all released in 1979. You can hear the rawness, sometimes even without keyboards, that reminds you of the Punk and Power Pop influences that were still very much around in those days.

As a small side project to The Unknown Beauty Of The 80's and The Continuous Beauty Of The Unknown 80s, which to be honest accommodated some late seventies tracks over the years as well, I present to you the compilation "A Year Too Early: Never Made It Into The 80's" Vol. III with 20 tracks all recorded and released during 1979.

Please note, this in NO way is intended to take away sales from any of the artists included here but rather a way
to discover or rediscover these timeless masterpieces.
Please support these bands if they should have material available! They deserve all the credit!

Up for a week.

The Tracks:

01. Spittin' Image - Baby Goodbye (2:39)
02. Agnes Bernelle With The Radiators - Kitty Ricketts (4:05)
03. The Cybermen - You're To Blame (2:51)
04. Robert Rental & Thomas Leer - Day Breaks, Night Heals (4:04)
05. Chrisma - Aurora B. (5:09)
06. The Neat - Hormones In Action (in my heart) (3:03)
07. Black Rod - Rockin' In The House Of Commons (3:37)
08. Zones - Looking To The Future (3:16)
09. Beluga And The Human Ashtrays - Mars Needs Women (3:18)

What a great idea! I've always thought of 1979 as a year of "new wave", even if it wasn't 80s.

Thanks again Rissan!
