I've heard many 12" mixes that are perfectly enjoyable, but really only feature more instrumental sessions, a few more drum breaks, and less emphasis on the vocal. Do you know any extended versions that really take dub's innovations seriously, deconstructing and destabilizing the track's pop structure? See for example:

Bruce Springsteen - outrageous dub version of Cover Me

Kissing the Pink - Big Man Restless (extended). The second half is where it gets deconstructed.
If you look through my posts, I have a compilation of alternate and extended mixes. I can't remember if the upload is still accessible. There's an excellent remix of Every Day Is Halloween that doesn't really take influence from dub's use of space, but has some great drum fills. . . Actually, I take that back, now that I'm listening. It gets into wild asynchronous madness with clouds of delay:

I once heard a crazy dub version of a 1080s Rolling Stones track. Anyone know that one?
