Does anyone know how many different version of the BEF ident there are? I think at least 4? I haven't compared them all in detail.

Is Temptation (Backing Track) here:

https://www.discogs.com/release/1111674 ... Luxury-Gap

the same as Temptation (Instrumental) here:

https://www.discogs.com/release/858571- ... Temptation

User comment for the latter gives a run time of 3:58 which matches the runtime of the former, and they both have a 2006 release date, which strongly suggests they are the same. But same user also says that the latter is unique to that release. Is he mistaken?

Anybody know anything about my other question I asked above re. Go Go Brown (Dance Version)? Is it the extended version or something else?

EDIT- While I'm at it, anyone have the vinyl-only Fascist Groove Thang (Rapino Instrumental)? Another track omitted from the box set...

i'm ordering it, so it could be awhile before i find out, and if it is different, i'll post it.

here's the fascist groove thang (rapino instrumental):

first of all, its the best version of the song, good beat, but short.

updated the discogs link with the time 5m:05s

unfortunately, its a noisy pressing, lots of crackle and some clicks. i tried 3 different times, recorded both sides.
spent time cleaning, but this is about as good as it gets.

its too bad it wasn't included on the boxsets.

anyways, thats one more mystery down.

?

No, they are not the same although both are derived from the Brothers in Rhythm remix. The Backing Track has the backing vocals and the instrumental does not.

Thanks for the info. Hmmm I have the Backing Track and it sure sounds like the original or maybe from Naked as Advertised, not the BiR remix... Does anyone have the 2nd one, the instrumental, to share?

And -1, thanks much for the Go Go Brown share.

EDIT: There is a Temptation (7" Backing Track) that is from the BiR remix and is also in the Play To Win box set. But pretty sure that's not the one on the iTunes Luxury Gap that I first linked to...

EDIT #2: There's a Temptation BiR Backing Track and a Temptation BiR Instrumental, both in the Play To Win box set, but I don't think either of them are what I was asking about originally.

Discogs user describes the Instrumental here (https://www.discogs.com/release/858571- ... Temptation) like this: "B1 is unique to this release. It's a semi-instrumental version (3:58) using the original tapes (linn drum, synths and Carol Kenyon's vocals) and thankfully not another dance/house-remix. The backing track of this mix was also used in 2008 for the new version of Temptation on Naked As Advertised, featuring Billie Godfrey." This description seems to exactly describe the Backing Track I have from this release https://www.discogs.com/release/1111674 ... Luxury-Gap Looks like this Backing Track is available from UK Amazon too, track 18: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00K9PXBZ2/

So I'm back to concluding that the two are indeed the same.
