The Unknown Beauty Of The 80's Vol. 166

Postby Rissan » Wed Jul 28, 2021 3:46 am

And now for something completely different.

In the past I threw in a thematic volume now and then. I remember the reaction to the whale compilation being one of a surprise.
Since I enjoy making thematic compilations a lot, remember the Winter compilation and the America compilation for example or the progressive rock and cover compilations during this series among others, I have scheduled some for the next couple of weeks with the main requirement the tracks must be released in the 80's, with an exception now and then.

This weeks thematic volume is centered around the first element: Water. So for the upcoming weeks you can expect Fire, Earth and Air, which are already planned as well.
The tracks on these compilations will be a mix of single A- and B-sides and album tracks, in which I still try to introduce you mainly to new band names, meaning not featured before on the Unknown Beauty Of The 80's series, although well-known names are presented as well. Oh and to give you a spoiler. Since the list of tracks to choose from was so overwhelming you can expect another round of Element volumes later this year. The second Water volume is awesome, but you have to be patient for awhile.

As always link is up for just a week.

The tracks:

01. Mo - Waterfall (3:50)
02. Tsugutoshi Goto - Shoot The Water (3:44)
03. Strawberry Switchblade - Deep Water (3:56)
04. Krisma - Water (4:57)
05. The Escape Club - Blood And Water (4:24)
06. John Foxx - Ghosts On The Water (3:12)
07. The Cuban Heels - Walk On Water (2:58)
08. Platinum Blonde - Holy Water (3:40)
09. Girls At Our Best! - Waterbed Babies (3:25)
10. Makaton Chat - Fire And Water (3:33)
11. Ballistic Kisses - Waterball Satellite (5:06)
12. Martha And The Muffins - By The Waters Of Babylon (4:57)
13. Tim Finn - Water Into Wine (4:09)
14. Kim Wilde - Water On Glass (7" version) (3:33)
15. Fanatiks - Water Colors (3:47)
16. Rock And Hyde - Dirty Water (4:17)
17. Blue Peter - Water Off The Moon (4:54)
18. Karen Rix & Sideway Look - Hungry Waters (unexpurgated version) (5:56)
19. The Nobodys - Drops Of Water (4:07)

the link: ...

Enjoy

I'll be damned, and you actually only used songs with the word WATER in the title. I would have thought it would take seas, ponds, lakes, puddles, etc. to pull off such a theme. As always, thanks so much for what you do!
