Great news! Their previous album "Love in the age of war" was perfect, among my personal top of the come-back albums of 198s performers, on par with their "Rhythm of youth" masterpiece. So we have all the reasons to expect something good this time! My only gripe is that the guys don't make music more often...

A bit later than usual but anyway, here's the third volume. This time fully electronic - didn't plan it that way, it just so happened. I personally have no problem with that (to put it lightly) but some people may be irked, so here's warning.

As usual some gems (Ciani's track is funny and such an addictive one - like Ceramic Hello's one from Volume 1, whereas Those Attractive Magnets' song and the last three are monsters of synthpop, I'm short of words to describe their first impression on me so won't waste your time :D ) and some "interesting" ones. A couple are obviously demos but overall, I feel, a very solid batch of songs (again!).

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 3

01. Suzanne Ciani [US] - Liberator
02. Iko [CA] - Jungle City
03. Those Attractive Magnets [UK] - Survivors
04. This Perfect Day [UK] - Silhouettes
05. Graf+ZYX [AT] - I Use You
06. Carmody [IT] - Most of You
07. Car Crash Set [NZ] - Dreams
08. Linear Movement [BE] - The Game
09. Hidden Agenda [US] - Moving Pictures
10. Caméra · Obscura [UK] - Horizons of Suburbia

Hey-hey-hey, it's Wednesday! :D And time for another volume in the series. The previous one was fully electronic, this one has more variety musically, with "love" (in all its guises) as a general theme. Some fantastic songs (I remember having the hair on my arms standing up when I heard "Young love" back in the mists of early 2000s) - and let's see if you can spot a very obscure 1980s reference (let's call it that) in one of the songs, it's very funny :D

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 4

01. Days of Sorrow [DE] - Dianne
02. Images in Vogue [CA] - Look Me in the Eye
03. Toy Shop [UK] - Fall in Love with Me
04. Gay Cat Park [IT] - Bit of Charm
05. Richard Bone [US] - When Worlds Collide
06. John Foxx [UK] - Young Love
07. The Shortwave Mystery [US] - Special Girl
08. Seppuku [SE] - Chinese Girl (radio session)
09. Devo [US] - One Dumb Thing
10. Hard Corps [UK/FR] - Sacred Heart

Some nice tracks again. But Linear Movement is a Belgium band not a Dutch one.

Hey guys! The previous two weeks were too busy for me to continue this thread as usual - but here's a new installment. The opening song in sensational, cannot understand how it wasn't even released properly in its time! All the other ain't half bad, too :D

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 5

01. Twilight Ritual [BE] - Wired to the Machines
02. Scarlet Architect [US] - Eternal Return
03. Pavillon 7b [FR] - I Want to Live for Me
04. Mick Milk [US] - Point of Purchase
05. V-Sor, X [UK] - Commercial Breakthrough
06. Final Program [UK] - Out of Luck
07. B-Movie [UK] - Furnishing the Empty Dream
08. Robert Marlow [UK] - Ambition
09. Red Fetish [UK] - The Last Man
10. Rockets [FR / IT] - When the Fire Dies

Enjoy!

P.S. And Rissan, thank you for spotting my blunder concerning Linear Movement - that was not in any way intentional and I apologize.

Time for the new installment in the series. This one has a clear anti-militarist/anti-nuke/socio-critical bent which is sadly quite timely, I'm sure you'll agree. Still can't imagine a reason why one of Ministry's finest songs didn't see the light of day (via traditional means anyway) in its day, and the closing song is one of my absolute favourites - clearly remember the hair on my neck standing up when I first heard it! Wow! Poeme Electronique's release from which it came from is anyway of the best archival "synth" releases, hugely recommend it. The crazy thing is that their newer songs, from 2000-2010s, are almost on par, great synthpop which puts to shame most of the young pretenders of our day. The same I can say about Oppenheimer Analysis - fantastic music both old and new, please investigate if at all interested. And what a trouble I had choosing the best song from N.O.I.A.'s "Unreleased classics" compilation! All in all, great stuff all around!

Unreleased in the 1980s Vol. 6

01. Elli & Jacno [FR] - Atomic Age
02. Ministry [US] - Same Old Madness
03. Oppenheimer Analysis [UK] - The Devil's Dancers
04. Stranger Station [UK] - Minds of Clay
05. T.R.A.S.E. [UK] - War Machine
06. Spöön Fazer [UK] - Rising Sun
07. Pseudo Echo [AU] - Marching Feet
08. Rational Youth [CA] - May Day 1984
09. N.O.I.A. [IT] - Karowa Milk Bar
10. Poeme Electronique [UK] - Dilemma
