So the thread seems to have migrated to Monday, hope no one's upset about it
A 10th volume here! Seemingly by the year's end we'll be done with the series, but maybe not, let's wait and see. Here we have the usual amount of hidden treasures (and simply nice songs), the main ones for me a opener and closer. Humania's unfairly overlooked but important part of Ultravox history - if "U-vox" is the way Midge saw the band's evolution than "Sinews of the soul" may very well be Billy's. Great surprise it was and songs range from solid to stellar, I had a hard time picking one for this series. Urge all interested to check the whole bunch, it really is very cool. The New Occupants, on the other hand, were a neat synthpop band with several entertaining songs under their belt. How come this one never saw the light of day is beyond me - it's one of my firm favourites in the whole genre, never fails to put me in a dreamy but somewhat dramatic mood
Oh, and that Paul Haig left his song languishing in the archives for decades is just criminal - I can't get it out of my head for days after listening, hope you'll like it as much (though maybe I shouldn't've grouped the last two together - but you're free to change the running order, of course!).
Those are just the highlights! Go get the rest - though be warned, this time due to sheer length of the songs it's not the usual "about 40 minutes", but "about 50 minutes". I personally have no problem with that, the songs are good so you won't notice the time
