Well, so now is my second attempt to stop this :D I dug so deep into my mountains of music I practically exhausted everything. Maybe some further stuff will emerge with time, I feel it's kind of inevitable, actually, but for now that seems to be the extent of what I have. I kind of thought 40 volumes are possible, but not now. 380 songs are quite enough, though! Lack of comments suggests as much, too.

Speaking of these two new volumes, #37 is comprised of, let's say, unorthodox and non-linear interpretations. It's not the kind of "New Wave" immediately recognizable to most but it was an important current of said wave - deconstructions of pop and rock standards etc. May sound alien at first, but will grow on you soon - it did on me! :D #38 meanwhile is regular eclectic stuff - synthed-up and modernized readings, some unusual, some rather traditional. The Metronomes, Cat Gang and, of course, The Residents stand out (to me, at least).

Volume 37 - Coil to The Durutti Column

01. Coil - Tainted Love [Gloria Jones]
02. Judy Nylon & Crucial - Jailhouse Rock [Elvis Presley]
03. Pigbag - Smiling Faces (live) [The Undisputed Truth]
04. Lydia Lunch & Rowland S. Howard - Some Velvet Morning [Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood]
05. Patrick Fitzgerald - My Death [Jacques Brel]
06. Jowe Head - Wimoweh [Karl Denver]
07. Morgan-Fisher - A Taste of Honey [Lenny Welch]
08. Taxi Girl - My Generation (live) [The Who]
09. Severed Heads - Strange Brew [Cream]
10. The Durutti Column with Debbie Diamond - White Rabbit [Jefferson Airplane]

Volume 38 - Escalators to Rainy Day

01. Escalators - Wooly Bully [Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs]
02. Étienne Daho - Arnold Layne [Pink Floyd]
03. The Residents - Kaw-Liga [Hank Williams with His Drifting Cowboys]
04. The Metronomes - Psychotic Reaction (live) [Count Five]
05. Dæmion ‎- Dizzy [Tommy Roe]
06. Flesh & Fell - Emma [Hot Chocolate]
07. Ukraine - I Can See Clearly Now [Johnny Nash]
08. Flesh for Lulu - Jigsaw Puzzle [The Rolling Stones]
09. Cat Gang - Locomotive Breath [Jethro Tull]
10. Rainy Day - Sloop John B [The Beach Boys]

Two false starts later, here are the final volumes in the series. I really wanted to bring it up to 400 songs, and in the recent months I've been able to gather up the necessary stuff. This brings the task to a most successful ending! Both volumes are motley bunches, as usual, hope you'll like them :D

Volume 39 - The Stupid Set to Alan Vega

01. The Stupid Set - Hello I Love You [The Doors]
02. Frank Chickens - Fujiyama Mama [Wanda Jackson]
03. Sue Cuss ‎- You Really Got Me [The Kinks]
04. N.O.I.A. - Summertime Blues (Eddie's Dead) [Eddie Cochran]
05. Teai Benet - Bend Me, Shape Me [The Outsiders]
06. Angela - Kites [Simon Dupree & The Big Sound]
07. The Fools - Running Scared [Roy Orbison]
08. Massimo Barsotti D.J. - Whole Lotta Love [Led Zeppelin]
09. Danny Tate - Love Potion No. 9 [The Searchers]
10. Alan Vega - Be-Bop-a-Lula [Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps]

Volume 40 - Im-Mac Logic to Executive Slacks

01. Im-Mac Logic - Bolero [Maurice Ravel]
02. Blue - Riders on the Storm [The Doors]
03. The Allniters - Montego Bay [Bobby Bloom]
04. Charlie Sexton - Hold Me [PJ Proby]
05. The Church - I Am a Rock [Simon & Garfunkel]
06. In Tua Nua - Somebody to Love [Jefferson Airplane]
07. Mathilde Santing - Behind a Painted Smile [The Isley Brothers]
08. Stranger Comforts - Paint It Black [The Rolling Stones]
09. Go West - Ball of Confusion (live) [The Temptations]
10. Executive Slacks - Rock'n'Roll [Gary Glitter]

Hey-hey guys, a quick note - I've changed songs from Kim Wilde and Hazel O'Conner in volumes 4 and 12 respectively, I feel they better represent the spirit of the series. Those who are still interested may want to redownload, just check the original posts on pages 1 and 2. Bye!
