We're approaching the finish of this project. First of all, I changed a few tracks in volumes 11 & 12 to dispense with not directly "New Wave" performers, you may want to get them again (or just simply download the changed tracks, the links are the same).

Next, here are two further volumes. Pretty motley bunch, as usual, hope I managed to mix synthed-up and more conventional covers evenly for more interesting listen :)

Volume 25 - Voice to Kenji Omura

01. Voice - I Am the Walrus [The Beatles]
02. Pulse Beat - Ride a White Swan [T. Rex]
04. Mobiles - Build Me up Buttercup [The Foundations]
05. Martyn Bates - The Look of Love [Dusty Springfield]
05. Panic - She's Not There [The Zombies]
06. Jane Aire & The Belvederes - Breaking Down the Walls of Heartache [Johnny Johnson & The Bandwagon]
07. Drinking Electricity - Shakin' All Over [Johnny Kidd & The Pirates]
08. Rexy - Johnny B. Goode [Chuck Berry]
09. U.V. Pop - Amsterdam [Jacques Brel]
10. Kenji Omura - Far East Man [George Harrison]

Volume 26 - Spear of Destiny to Final Program

01. Spear of Destiny - Walk in My Shadow [Free]
02. Made for TV - Unknown Soldier [The Doors]
03. Rockwell - Taxman [The Beatles]

Hey guys, we're nearly there! Two of the weightiest (re: general file size) volumes up here today, appropriately eclectic to boot. Have to admit, those two were unfinished first time around and now I've had to search quite rigorously to complete them, took some time to do so. In the end I feel by now I featured nearly everybody (remember, the iron rule was to feature one cover song from one artist under one guise), so the series draws to a close quite naturally. Next week there will be two more "surprise" volumes for final closure, so we all can move on to other things :D

Volume 27 - Fuzzbox to Arthur Brown

01. We've Got a Fuzzbox & We're Gonna Use It - Spirit in the Sky [Norman Greenbaum]
02. Artistic Control - Tomorrow Never Knows [The Beatles]
03. Bebe Buell - The Little Black Egg [The Nightcrawlers]
04. Marc Seberg - Venus in Furs [The Velvet Underground]
05. Oingo Boingo - You Really Got Me [The Kinks]
06. Experimental Products - Golden Hours [Brian Eno]
07. Exotica Maximus - Paint It Black [The Rolling Stones]
08. Colin Newman - Blue Jay Way [George Harrison]
09. Ron Magness - Stand by Me [Ben E. King]
10. Arthur Brown & Craig Leon - Not Fade Away [The Crickets]

Link: https://mega.nz/folder/jtFCRDLB#grytkn1GkYRAoUC5AO8z9g

Volume 28 - Cristina to Tuxedomoon

01. Cristina - Drive My Car [The Beatles]
02. The Creatures - Right Now [Mel Torme]
03. Sheena & The Rokkets - (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction [The Rolling Stones]
04. Wire Train - God on Our Side [Bob Dylan]
05. The Icicle Works - Going Back [The Byrds]
06. Susan - Do You Believe in Mazik? [The Lovin' Spoonful]
07. Flesh - My Boy Lollipop [Millie Small]
08. Absolute Body Control - Baby's on Fire [Brian Eno]
09. M.A.P. - You've Lost That Loving Feeling [The Righteous Brothers]
10. Tuxedomoon - I Heard It Through the Grapevine [Marvin Gaye]

Until next week! :D

Alright, so here's the last installment in the series. Finally! Originally I thought I'll rid of it quickly, but nearly six months is much more than I bargained for :D Not that I'm sick of it all, on the contrary, it was very interesting to work on the 10-year old project, renew and update it. Overall I'm pleased, yes, quite pleased that I had a chance to present it here. So much so that I keep correcting it even now - check the volumes 7 and 24, I changed some songs there (yes, again!), now they're even more "New Wave", yeah! We'll see, maybe there'll be some more corrections - though I promise to try to keep myself in check :D

Anyway, here are two final volumes. The first consists of non-English language covers. Those are quite hard to find, I practically scraped the barrels to compile it. Maybe someone can suggest more in this regard? It's quite good and varied, though, have a listen! By the way, was there any particular reason "New Wave" acts started covering the song "Lili Marleen" in such numbers? I could compile the whole volume out of versions of it, in almost all of NW subgenres! Here's only one of them, though, to me - the best :)

The last is my favourite, though - it contains instrumental cover versions, either of regular songs or instrumental hits. All by performers not featured in the series, too! As some may know, I'm a big fan of instrumental "New Wave" and synthpop, so it was a particular pleasure of mine :D

So, that seems to be the end. If anyone finds any glaring omission(s), feel free to suggest, but for now I'm out of stuff. Those 30 volumes, though, are quite enough for a start :D

It's been fun.

Volume 29 - DAF to Alaska y Dinarama(Non-English Covers)

01. DAF - Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi [Labelle]
02. Nina Hagen - Zarah (Ich Weiss, Es Wird Einmal Ein Wunder Geschehn) [Zarah Leander]
03. Jeanette und Das Land Z - Pouppee de Cire, Pouppee de Son [France Gall]
04. Olé Olé - Caminemos [Trio Los Panchos]
05. Jo Lemaire + Flouze - Je Suis Venue Te Dire Que Je M'en Vais [Serge Gainsbourg]
06. Matia Bazar - Lili Marleen [Lale Andersen]
07. Belaboris - Rakkauden Jalkeen [Carola Standertskjöld]
08. Indochine - L'Opportuniste [Jacques Dutronc]
09. ZaZa - Caprifischer [Rudi Schuricke]
10. Alaska y Dinarama - Kali [Bengalese traditional]

Volume 30 - The Loved One to Section 25 (Instrumental Edition)

02. The Pool - Peter Gunn [Duane Eddy]
03. Rusty Egan - The Twilight Zone [Marius Constant]
04. Age of Mirrors - Orange Blossom Special [Ervin T. Rouse]
05. Logic System - Classical Gas [Mason Williams]
06. The Raybeats - B-Gas Rickshaw [Jan Berry]
07. Art of Noise - James Bond Theme [Monty Norman]
08. Arto - Kwai Systeme [Malcolm Arnold]
09. The Creatures - Simfonia #40 Sol Minore [Mozart]
10. Section 25 - Gymnopedies [Eric Satie]

Glad you like it Paul, always nice to see your approval!

The thing is, I can't leave the series alone, it seems. Just when I thought I finished with it new, unchecked before covers come to light - and I just have to make new changes to up the "New Wave" factor :D So the recent updates are: Ultravox track in Vol. 1 changed for JoJo Zep's, Coil one in Vol. 9 - to Cinemaspop's, 16 bit in Vol. 14 went out in favour of Krisma, Go West in Vol. 17 - for Joachim Witt. I also noticed I only uploaded 9 tracks in Vol. 29 - and about time as I found an additional, and very cool cover by ZaZa, so it's added. I also deleted Cinemaspop track in instrumental edition and added two more to compensate.

Now it all flows much better and is more brilliant than ever, so you may want to redownload. Hopefully for now that's it, and I'll see what I can do with the deleted covers. Maybe a volume or two more?.. :D

Hello again, guys! Of course I could never let this thread lie :D It became such an involving and pleasant task I felt mightly uneasy when the original run ended. So recently I dove deep into my music collection - and voila, found enough stuff to continue for a bit more! Some covers I didn't use originally, some I substituted for more suitable stuff in the original volumes but had no heart to delete, some are pleasant surprises from my constant trawl of the blogs and p2p services 10-15 years ago, some are recent finds (it's uncanny how you finish something and then suitable stuff just starts pouring in!). I tried to use the quality recordings (sound-wise) but there may be some inconsistencies. I cannot do anything about it, hopefully won't spoil your listening experience.

Of course I did a bit a tweaking with the already published volumes. I changed the last track in Vol. 29 (I'll include New Order in a future volume), also Vol. 30 got truncated to usual 10 tracks - but this way we'll have another (and very fun) instrumental edition! That's about it, though, and now let's check the new volumes - usual motley bunch but entertaining nonetheless.

Volume 31 - The Catch to Kirlian Camera

01. The Catch - On the Road Again [Canned Heat]
02. The Kane Gang - Respect Yourself [The Staple Singers]
03. Extrabreit - Virginia Plain [Roxy Music]

09. Techno Pop - Paint It Black [The Rolling Stones]
10. Kirlian Camera - Epitaph [King Crimson]

Forgin' ahead, the next two volumes are up. Mostly an even mix of guitar-based and electronic covers, with the latter being my favourites naturally. I'm currently obsessed with The Reels number - such an unexpected reworking and what a great (and sadly timely) song it is! There are some pretty quirky things, too, which is always pleasant.

Volume 33 - Robert Hazard to The Reels

01. Robert Hazard - Blowin' in the Wind [Bob Dylan]
02. T.o.morrow - Paranoid [Black Sabbath]
03. Divinyls - 9:50 [The Twilights]
04. Second Glance - 96 Tears [? & The Mysterians]
05. Public Skool - Baby Come Back [The Equals]
06. Modern Jazz - Whole Lot of Shakin' Goin' on [Jerry Lee Lewis]
07. Rudi - Yummy Yummy Yummy [Ohio Express]
08. Fast Radio - Under My Thumb [The Rolling Stones]
09. The Scientists - You Only Live Twice [Nancy Sinatra]
10. The Reels - Bad Moon Rising [Creedence Clearwater Revival]

Volume 34 - The Nails to Tino Casal

01. The Nails - Let It All Hang out [The Hombres]
02. Chalk Circle - 20th Century Boy [T. Rex]
03. Virgin Circus - Draggin' the Line [Tommy James]
04. The Bowling Balls - When You Walk in the Room [Jackie DeShannon]
05. Orbit feat. Carol Hall - All Shook up [Elvis Presley]
06. Then Jerico - Prairie Rose [Roxy Music]
07. Mar Otra Vez - Sex Machine [James Brown]
08. С Cat Trance - You've Lost That Loving Feeling [The Righteous Brothers]
09. Jayhawks - No Regrets [Tom Rush]

Moving briskly on, volumes #35 & 36 are here! The first of those consists of covers I removed from previous volumes driven by a constant desire to perfect the "New Wave"ness of those. These are mostly from late 1980s and early 1990s and therefore sound not quite "New Wave" or even less so. At the same time their performers are people who were there from the start - but only got around to doing covers at the turn of the decades or later. I just grouped them for better flow. Also I didn't want to waste a perfectly nice bunch of stuff :D The second is another instrumental volume. This time some tracks feature vocal phrases and noises, and therefore sound better together. Also about half are covers of popular songs and the rest are versions of instrumental compositions. It's actually a very cool bunch, both highly listenable and off-kilter somewhat.

Volume 35 - 16 Bit to Anne Clark

01. 16 Bit - (Ina) Gadda-da-Vida [Iron Butterfly]
02. Erasure - River Deep Mountain High [Ike & Tina Turner]
03. Pet Shop Boys - Losing My Mind [Stephen Sondheim]
04. Kamerata - Heroin [The Velvet Underground]
05. Exotic Birds - Day After Day [Badfinger]
06. The Cure - Hello, I Love You [The Doors]
07. Figures on the Beach - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet [Bachman Turner Overdrive]
08. Danielle Dax - Tomorrow Never Knows [The Beatles]
09. Malaria! - Lay Lady Lay [Bob Dylan]
10. Anne Clark - The Windmills of Your Mind [Noel Harrison]

Link: https://mega.nz/folder/ioM32ZCb#QAcEc2avcS3SqO0NiFf_-g

Volume 36 - Ad Infinitum to Book of Love (Instrumental Edition)

01. Ad Infinitum - Telstar [The Tornadoes]
02. Simple Minds - Jerusalem [Hubert Parry]
03. Material - For a Few Dollars More [Ennio Morricone]
04. Social Climbers - The Day the Earth Stood Still [Bernard Herrmann]
05. Jah Wobble - Blueberry Hill [Fats Domino]
06. Mulligan & N. Smith - Walk on by [Dionne Warwick]
07. Drama - Electronic Pink Panther [Henry Mancini]
08. Kevin Dunn & The Regiment of Women - Somewhere Over the Rainbow [Judy Garland]
09. Bet Lynch's Legs - Riders in the Sky [Vaughn Monroe]
10. Book of Love - Tubular Bells [Mike Oldfield]

Hope you like it!
