there are 2 different box sets shown on discogs ...

https://www.discogs.com/release/1424190 ... es-Box-Set
https://www.discogs.com/release/1786192 ... es-Box-Set

i purchased one of the sets many years ago off ebay and backed the files up into lossless flac files.. later on i sold them on as i needed funds!

now the thing is at the time i did not know much about cd audio etc but out of curiosity recently i was checking the old files i had on my hard drive only to find that they seemed to have been sourced from low quality mp3 (possibly either 128kbps or 160kbps at a push.

this seemed a bit of a shocker because at the time, around 12 years ago i paid around £30 for them!!!

my question is does anyone have this set as to check the original quality and see if they were sourced from mp3s if not and they are lossless would some kind person be willing to share the lossless counterparts with me.

i know this is a long shot but if you don't ask you never know.

thanks :)

Most sources say it is UNOFFICIAL release by a DD FAN CLUB, UNOFFICIAL label said to be located in Finland (?????????)

https://duranduran.fandom.com/wiki/DD_Fan_Club

With some of their releases dubbed in Russian, one can say, with 99% precision, this "label" is situated, at best, to the north-east of Finnish border.
You could hardly expect any better quality from such enthusiasts.....

I remember having a Duran Duran release from the same workshop.... same quality......

Thanks for reply, i have quite a few from cd's and dvd's from the DD Fan Club label and looked at some other releases and as far as i can see the files ripped from the singles box set are the only ones in my collection that have this problem (a distinct cut off when viewed in a spectral analyser)

when i originally acquired the set it could have actually have been a bootleg of a bootleg! possibly ripped from the original discs as an mp3 then later along the line burned to cd's :(
