Phil Lynott- Yellow Pearl (instrumental version)

Postby schwenko » Wed Nov 10, 2021 8:11 pm

The British music show Top of the Pops used an instrumental version of Phil Lynott's "Yellow Pearl" as its theme song from 1981-1983.
Is it available on cd?

I only heard it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_u58G0T4lI
and was sure it was an amateur mix.

"Now That's What I Call Music! - The Millennium Series" has this track as "11 - Philip Lynott - Yellow Pearl (Top Of The Pops Theme)" on 1981 volume:

but it is the song, not instrumental.

This is the version from the
Now That's What I Call Music! - The Millennium Series
and 4 other versions.
But they are not instrumentals.

Post-Punk Monk wrote a blog page about this song.

have a listen to this...

It's my take on a instrumental version of the song ...

Better quality than the one on youtube (my opinion anyway)

possibly nearest you are going to get to an instrumental with Phil's 'singing' removed

Audio is in lossless format
