Posted: Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:22 amZODIAC are a Latvian synth instrumental band, hugely popular in the beginning of 80ies beyond the Iron Curtain on the wave of popularity of synth bands like KRAFTWERK and SPACE. Their first two LP releases, DISCO ALLIANCE 1980 and MUSIC IN THE UNIVERSE 1982 were each sold in 20+ mln. copies in the former Soviet Union, making them No.1 in record sales for a few consecutive years.
"Rock on the ice" from the first album was an ultimate disco hit throughout the country - it is still my nostalgic fave of that band.
Although their further releases were more or less basic synth music and movie soundtracks, they are still popular, making countless remixes of the first two LPs.
