After all......when I think of italo disco, Gazebo is always the first thing that comes to my mind.

If there is another record that could fall under the banner of "italo" released before 1982 (Masterpiece), I am certainly not aware of its existence.

There are dozens.
As an example, Passengers --a perfect italo disco band - started in 1979

Ricchi i Poveri and all that beautiful gang of Pupo, Kano, La Bionda, Shock etc etc all started in late 70-ies.
