Gazebo, thank you a million times over for all these obscure songs you have shared with us! It seemed like every Friday (and sometimes earlier days, if you had hockey) would bring several 'new' songs that were great, and a bunch of others that found their way into my regular listening list.

I am so far behind on listening to the series - I listen out of order, but I also try to listen to each song at least twice, and learn more about each artist. Giving a list of my favorites is the least I can do, but I have a lot I haven't heard yet. Two songs that stood out for me as great, and I couldn't get out of my head, were Nobodys - Goodbye Girl (Squeeze did the wrong Goodbye Girl! kind of like Squeeze meets Split Enz) and Officers and Gentlemen That's Life and Love. And my immediate thought of something missing was 7' if I liked the 12', or 12' if I liked the 7'.

I'll post separately in a couple weeks with a list of my favorites from my series. Thank you again for sharing so many great tunes with us.

Thank you Paul and happy new year! I definitely missed many instalments sadly, but this was a tour de force of not only great gems but in pristine audio quality (it's hard to believe many were ripped from vinyl as there is no trace of a pop or crackle). It was also quite impressive that many sets included artists that I was even aware of! Just off he top of my head, here are three very cool vinyl obscurities that I think didn't feature:

When You Smile You're A Different Girl by Something Blue (The last thing to feature Andy Nakanza of Boom Boom Room)
Frame by Frame (She's Too Much) by Films About Women (haven't heard the other songs on this LP but this one is great)
Ambition by Sepp Maier's Gloves (I mean, the band name alone)

Hard to choose just 3 favorites from what I caught and have listened to so far from these volumes. Many of the ones that stood out to me in the collection were single releases as part of compilation albums from bands that sadly left no other trace according to Discogs. Hotline to Moscow's 'Inside Out' with what I'd affectionately call Crash Bandicoot synths, the harrowing 'House of Father Pig', the frenetic yet somehow educational 'Volapuk'. The 'History of Weaponry' by Lo Yo Yo is the kind of song that could only have been written in the 80s and
I love it: "Shotguns blaring esperanto". 'Can We Rebuild Our Cities?' by Silver Leaf also a distinguished and haunting gem. Lelo was awesome, and I enjoyed the outright wackiness of 'Sir Flea' by Home & Garden, and 'The Machines Have Broken Loose' by Extrax.

My absolute favorite however has to be Macchu Picchu! After hearing 'Joe' I thought it must be a flash in the pan (what or who is this song about?), but 'Canada' is just as good! Clever rhyme scheme and instrumentation. I missed Hologram earlier in the series but would love to hear it and the other two tracks from the LP: 'Sex Police' and 'Sound of Love'. This band is a total hidden gem! Thanks again for all your hard work on this. It's more than most professional labels do.

Sean, we go back a very long time so thanks my friend for all your years of support! Mus, I'm so glad there are tracks that really stood out above others, great choices I might add!

Laidinruins, Great to see folks taking the time and great requests! God, I don't even want to get into audio quality but thank you. Let's just say "I did my best"! There are definitely certain tracks I wish I could have back as they may have been over filtered due to the aged vinyl condition and being pressed for time. My focus on removing as much crackle as possible to make tracks audible, I felt at times, stripped beats of the crisp natural "ttt" sound. Towards the end of the series and obviously more time consuming, I really made it a point to avoid that.

One perfect example of difficult is the rare Finale Track: Panic - Midnight 1980 756 (81) on volume 200. This 7'' record had all the elements of a nightmare vinyl rip! Not only was it the longest running time for a 7'' in the series at just under 8min which surpassed the Bonus Track on Volume 100 Shrine - Days Without End 732 (86), it was colored vinyl which for me can prove quite challenging, not exactly sure why? Oh, and of course the fact that the record is over 40 years old and a Private Press lol. This one track took 5 days on and off but so worth it in the end! If I should ever re-visit any of the tracks in the series, you can be sure I'll share them here.

Lastly, one of the tracks you mention by (Sepp Maier's Gloves "Ambition") which I believe also went under the band name The Vets (need to double check) and another track by them were put aside but unfortunately I never got to them in time. Also, great top choices! 'Sir Flea' by Home & Garden is also a fav of mine. Macchu Picchu, one of my biggest surprises after re-listening to the record! I could have easily added the remaining two tracks if memory serves me well but I opted to go with what I thought were the best tracks. A great unknown record no doubt! Here's the one you missed, enjoy!

Macchu Picchu - Hologram 320 (87)

Gazebo Music wrote:Happy New Year all! What can I possibly say? I'm truly humbled by the response this series has received and the kind words shared here and via emails from literally all over the world! This makes it all worth it! As Telekon3 nicely said "Music is made to be listened to", so true! I would also add, what good is a rare piece of music if in some cases no one will ever get to hear it? As the years quickly go by, like many things, there's always a risk of loosing it forever and I would hate that to happen to the music we're all so passionate about.

Multi, you're very welcome!
Redo, likewise my friend and hello Peru!
Xymo, as always, thank you for all your support!
LMP, thank you for taking the time and very kind feedback! Ps: two of the four on your wish list had been put aside, sadly I never got to them in time.
Ris, as I said before, you always kept me on my toes lol, Thank you!
Telekon, absolutely agree, many of the tracks shared received little or no recognition! I'm glad they found a home on this series. Thank you!
Fred, some very kind words and glad you find the very obscure so fascinating! Ps: The อนัตตา (Anatta) tracks were last minute additions. Great synths!
WLR, thank your for all your support and for putting up with any typos or corrections that had to be made so we could all have accurate artwork! Truly
Synthwavefan, my pleasure and yes Dave was involved in quite a few official 80s releases, Best Of Images In Vogue was another, Thank you!
Crichert, simply awesome and so glad this music takes you back to a magical place and the good ole' days! Ps: The Six Million Dollar Man action figure which I still have till this day was my most memorable Xmas as a child lol. Thank you!

I can finally sit back on my couch and enjoy this series on my stereo and not in front of a computer with headphones on :D Take Care

Paul an absolute pleasure to play a small part in this wonderful series :D

Okay finally finished all volumes and here are the last typos although I have my doubts with the Joathan M tracks:

Volume 196

13. Moebius - Moebius is from 1979 (https://www.discogs.com/master/52745-Moebius-Moebius)

Volume 198

16. Temper Temper - Leave A Little Loving is from 1990 (https://www.discogs.com/release/3626419 ... pping-Away)

Concennig the next entries of Jonathan M I have my doubts, since i can't read the liner notes on the CD insert pictured on Discogs.
As far as it is readable, man get the impression the songs were written in a period of years between 1985 and 1990. So they could come from 1987, although the album was released in 1990.
Maybe Gaz can shed a light on this one.

Volume 197

08. Jonathan M - With You is from 1990 (https://www.discogs.com/release/1272280 ... -Yesterday)

Volume 198

09. Jonathan M - Open Up To Me is from 1990 (https://www.discogs.com/release/1272280 ... -Yesterday)

Volume 199

03. Jonathan M - Following Yesterday is from 1990 (https://www.discogs.com/release/1272280 ... -Yesterday)

Volume 200

18. Jonathan M - One Turns Love Around is from 1990 (https://www.discogs.com/release/1272280 ... -Yesterday)

Rissan, you mentioned Temper Temper above. Gaz' year is correct, because it is from a compilation not listed on Discogs - Underground Resistance 3. I found a bunch of things in the series that are not listed on Discogs but I found through searches on auction sites, or some music never commercially released.

Hello all, I apologize for the long absence but will do my best in the next few days to finalize the master track list and spare WLR anymore changes as he's been ever so patient. Thank you to everyone who helped with corrections especially the last 40 volumes as I was pressed for time and couldn't double check everything!

The typos seem to be all correct now! Below are some of the years in question:

Head For Tall Trees - My Heart Guarantees is in fact from 1987 not 1981

As Mus mentioned, the Temper Temper year is correct as originally posted 1987

The Moebius - Moebius is in fact from 1979 and then re-released in 1980

The Jonathan M tracks are not from 1990 and the years indicated are all correct! Two of the tracks appear on a 1989 cassette compilation and the other three tracks were written in 1987 but never released prior to the 1990 cd according to a write up on an insert I came across.

Once again sorry for the long delay and thanks for taking the time to make the series as accurate as possible!
