Great choices xymox, not an easy task when you consider the amount of music shared from the series.

Thank you for taking the time Xymo and very nice tracks selected! I've always wanted to ask which tracks stood out for members but wasn't quite sure how to. This helps me immensely if we should ever continue this madness! All the best in the new year and glad you're enjoying the series!

Ps: Fred, you're absolutely right, no easy task selecting favs from so many brilliant tracks! Thanks

Happy New Year, Paul!! In your last post, you wrote: Request: I don't think I have ever requested anything on this board so I hope you don't mind. I would love to hear in time of course, what your top 3 unknown tracks were in the series and the top 3 tracks that you would have liked to have seen added. Just my curiosity!

To pick only three favourite songs is truly impossible, there are hundreds of songs that I've discovered from your LBNF series that I absolutely LOVE and have become part of my daily rotation of songs. Instead, what I will say is that some of my most favourite discoveries would be the tracks you've included from the "New Reaction" LPs from Reaction Records:

Vol 7: https://www.discogs.com/release/1122595 ... w-Reaction
Vol 9: https://www.discogs.com/release/2604359 ... w-Reaction
Vol 15: https://www.discogs.com/release/1069063 ... w-Reaction

It seems like almost every track you included from those collections are fantastic! With that, if I had to pick a few songs that I would have liked to see added, it would include some of those tracks that didn't make it to LBNF:

- Smoke Stack Lightning – Angel
- The Resistance – The Con
- The Icemen - World Without Light
- The Umbrellamen – There Is No Light
- Mike Gari – A Hard Shoulder To Cry On
- Hand In The Heavens – Another Dimension
- Stormed – Hums Of Trinity
- Wasteland – Why?

I feel a sense of guilt even asking/suggesting anything more than you've already shared. You've gone so far above and beyond with the work you've put in to the LBNF series, I could never thank you enough. Plus, it's probably safe to assume that if you didn't include them, they must not have been worthy of sharing, right? :)

Relax, and enjoy a break my friend!

Cor, A very nice write up thank you and very interesting you should bring up the "New Reaction" vinyl series. I will touch on this series a little later but for now I can tell you that 6 or 7 tracks including my Number One chosen track (Berlin Zu - Cherokee) on Volume 200 came from what could be the rarest Volume in the series with absolutely NO reference to it anywhere that I could find, the ELUSIVE 1987 Volume 3! If I'm not mistaking and for whatever reason, less than 10 copies were ever pressed. Pretty much every volume in this series is worthy of a CD release but sadly we know that will never happen. I really tried to pick out what I thought were the best tracks that would fit in nicely which wasn't easy as most were worthy! If one day we should add a volume or two to the LBNF series, I'll be sure to go back and have a further listen to the tracks left behind! All the best!

There's a video on YouTube of someone demonstrating Vol 3 and listing off the artists: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihhl-vvHh84

Sadly, it was posted 12 years ago, and it appears that the person running the channel hasn't posted anything recently, nor have they replied to any of the comments over the years. Maybe that elusive Vol 3 will show up one day on Discogs/Ebay. Crazy to think that there were only 10 copies ever pressed, why on earth even press that small amount!??! :)

Thank you for opening up another world of music to us and preserving these lost diamonds!

Thanks Cor, crazy I know! I may have actually seen these videos and skipped through the Volume 3 portion. I’m not quite sure what it is about this volume in particular but I will definitely add it to Discogs one day with as much info as I can. So many incredibly good tracks came from these promotional comps and glad many of them have been included in the LBNF series! All the best!
